Hello everybody. I made an upgrade from an Panasonic unit and composition media infotainment (2013) to a DELPHI MIB 2,5 unit with navigation from 2017 and new 8 inch display. It went very good, just with plug and play and some backup from the old unit and copy to new unit. From the first moment everything went well, the car is equipped with ACC, auto leveling, DRL, bending lights etc. . The new unit was I think hacked to use with any vw model. Today also everything works, no faults are displaying on the car's screen. I even have navigation in the cluster without any coding. My problem is that OBDeleven sees some component protection faults in the gateway and multimedia. I managed to delete the faults, except the component protection ones. This could be a problem in the future? Can I expect some errors in the function of the car? Thank you for your answer.

hekermeker : Hi. The real answer to your question is that no one knows because the hack details are unknown. This said, it is not at all unusual on these hacked units for the 2 x CP errors to remain. The hack removes the CP locks on the retrofitted MIB that normally stops any sound to the speakers; the hack generally doesn't remove the CP error from appearing when a diagnostic device scans the module (I guess because it's just an error message which doesn't do anything) Don

I managed to contact the hack "issuer" and the unit is "soft cracked", so as he claims the error messages are normal. I wanted a second opinion after I paid about 500 euros for the unit and the screen. Anyway until now everything is fine except that I can't "app code" with obdeleven the traffic sign recognition that worked with the old unit. Thank you Don for your answer.

That's common for hacked units. They keep error in module 5F, but are functioning without any problem.

The nice way of hacking these units: Use Odis to link your Mib to your car. Afterwards hack unit, that way errors are gone.

hey, i had the same like retrofit like you
first you can completely ignore CP Static fault, you will have these error for rest of your car life (but this dont damaged anything)\
and coming to the other errors
interface for external media you should change the usb port most probably now you have 5Q0 035 724(WHITE CONNECTOR SMALL USB) YOU HAVE ...> CHANGE TO 5Q0 035 726E USB GREEN COLOR PORT
or you can change your long coding and adaptation back to factory usb and this error will be gone(but i dont know that your factory usb can support AA and carplay
and other 3 function limitation .... error is because the 5F module is wrongly coded
you have to check all bytes and adaptation according to your tirm level
like acc,dab,nav etc etc
