hello guys, here's a short tutorial on how to solve the "no basic settings" errors that disable the driver's seat memory function. This procedure I did on the Passat B8, but I believe it is universal for cars of the VW group. This type of error can happen when you have customizations already applied and your car is going to do some procedure at the VW dealership that requires use of OBD. The mechanics usually don't realize that the seat's memory has stopped working, and they deliver your car anyway 😕 here's how to solve quickly using your OBD Eleven: warning: before starting this procedure, sit in the passenger seat, as the driver's seat will test all possible positions and it can cause accidents if you are too tall (or too wide 😁)
1. enter the option control unit option 36 (driver seat), click on "Fault" and "scan". 2. back to menu and select "Basic Settings" > "Norming": 3. do not change anything if it is the same in the image, and hold the check button to start the procedure 4. now only wait... the procedure may take a few minutes. Your obdevelen will let you know when you're done. 5. go back to the "Faults > Scan" menu. If an error still appears, just hold the button to clear. now your seat memory is working again 🥳 greetings from Brazil!

Thanks for the guide I tried it out today with my Passat B8 and I'd like to warn others that during the calibration the seat moves into into extreme front tilting to front and pushing the seat up.
In my case the headrest pushed up onto the sun visor breaking the sun visor mirror in the the progress. It would be prudent to remove the headrest before doing the calibration.
The sun visor was in normal position, folded up against the roof.
