I'm having a problem with my MK7.5 SE with push to start and MIB3 where whenever I try to apply a one touch app I get an error saying to Check Ignition and Try Again. I think the problem is the obdeleven not detecting the push button start when I turn accessories on. Does anyone know a solution to this?

Did you open the bonnet before trying? This helps in latest EU cars still on MQB

hmmm........ my hunch (it's a guess really) is that the OBD11 software isn't detecting what's known as a Terminal 15 state - which is typically a +12V rail that switches-on when the ignition switches-on (in your case, when you press the push button). A T15 state is important in a mk7.5 because it wakes-up the CAN network and it takes the modules out of their sleep mode
Now, my problem is that I don't know how the OBD11 software detects a T15 state. According to the mk7.5 wiring diagram, the OBD port (it's called "U31") doesn't have a pin connected to a T15 wire. So the OBD11 software must use another method for this detection. The OBD port does have a pin connected to a permanent 12 Volt supply and when the ignition switches-on, this voltage dips as the load on the battery increases. Perhaps the OBD11 sense this drop in voltage as a surrogate for the ignition switch-on (I don't know).
Sorry that I can't be of more help.
Does the bezel on the OBD11 dongle change from red to blue after you connect? Is the battery fully charged? And finally, the "standard" question have you tried clearing the APP cache?

vwjap: arrhhh......... thanks - that makes sense!! Then in OP's case the problem must be somewhere else since clearly the modules on the CAN network have received the ignition wake-up signal (because they are activated), but OBD11 hasn't received CAN message!! Don
