I feel like iv seen some sort of dashboard redline indicator, but cant seem to find any information on it now. I know it can be done on other cars. Any thoughts? 2019 gti.
Thanks

It would be a light or a signal of some kind that would go off when you hit redline

I had understood that that it wasn't possible to over-rev a mk7 (with DSG) because the mechatronic module (hex02) software won't allow it - even if manual mode is selected, the rev limiter will kick-in. Assuming the car hasn't been tuned
In park or neutral, I don't think the engine can be revved above 4K rpm.
The designed rev-limiter is a software restriction that is imposed by the module, but it is possible to "force" a mechanical over-reving if the driver changes from gear 6-to-gear 2 (say). If this happens, the event is recorded by the ECU and it can be discovered with ODIS

Yes, shift light is what Im looking for! My wording was wrong. Forgot to mention I run a manual. And that is correct Don, 4k in neutral. And here's to never money shifting, knock on wood. I did come across a "rev monitoring" adaptation, but didn't play with it. I wonder what that does. If I get that far I will report, or if you know, please do share.
