Hi there, I have recently upgraded my reverse lights on my mk7 to LEDs. I’m having issues with one of the bulb holders, as it’s not being able to power the LED, but works just fine with the normal bulb. I have tried switching the LEDs around from a side to another (also tried changing the LEDs orientation in the bulb holder), also tried to swap the bulb holders around, but I’m having the same issue. I’m thinking this would be a coding problem, as both bulb holders work just fine with normal bulbs, but when switching to LEDs, just one of them works. I have searching withing the “retrofit” section in the obdeleven app and realised there is a section for coding rear lights, but I’ve tried every single option there and I’m having the same problem. I would like to know if there is a coding option I can do within the app or if I need to buy a new bulb holder. I’m attaching a link from ebay with the bulb holder. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254735637514Thank you!! edit: My mk7 is an se model 2013 and these are the led reversing lights I bought for it. Try this:
Leuchte28RFL LC11 and Leuchte29RFL RA64
Don
PS: the setting in brackets should be your existing (fractory) value

Hi, thank you so much for your reply.
But I’m not sure what any of those codes mean and how to do what you’ve suggested.
I’m so sorry for my little knowledge, I’m completely new to Obdeleven, just bought a unit a few days ago and I’m trying to understand how the app works.
So if you could kindly explain what menus to enter within the app and what to do from there I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

^^^^^ hmm..... OK - first you MUST have the PRO version of OBD11 fire-up OBD11 software, connect to dongle and navigate to the "Control Units" screen
OR
- Select Central electrics module (it has "09" in the colored circle/panel)
- Select Adaptation
- In the search box, enter "LC11" and select Leuchte28RFL LC11 (this group of channels control the left-side outer tail-light lamp)
- Select Lasttyp 28
- Do NOT proceed if value is not 9 - allgemeine Glühlampe 27W; auch H15
- Change to 40 - allgemeine LED (don't forget to press the tick to implement change). At some point, OBD11 will request a security code - follow the prompts and enter 31347
- Select Dimmwert AB 28
- Change value to 127 (don't forget to press the tick to implement change)
- Go back to screen in step III above
- In the search box, enter "RA64" and select Leuchte29RFL RA64 (this group of channels control the right-side outer tail-light lamp)
- Select Lasttyp 29
- Change the value to 40 - allgemeine LED (don't forget to press the tick to implement change)
- Select Dimmwert AB 29
- Change value to 127 (don't forget to press the tick to implement change)
- Exit OBD11
IMPORTANT: Take care selecting values and channels - double check correct before committing to a change Don

Hi dear friend, I have a Passat B8 2017 Comfortline. I upgraded B8.5 tail light to my B8 Passat. Before: After: After this upgrade only reverse light on left-side outer tail-light lamp is working. Right-side outer tail-light lamp is not working. Now, On the Dashboard , reverse light on left-side outer tail-light lamp warning lights. I think it detects an error because it is an LED. But is it normal for the right side not to work? Select Central electrics module (it has "09" in the colored circle/panel) Select Adaptation In the search box, enter "LC11" and select Leuchte28RFL LC11 (this group of channels control the left-side outer tail-light lamp) Select Lasttyp 28 Do NOT proceed if value is not 9 - allgemeine Glühlampe 27W; auch H15 Change to 40 - allgemeine LED (don't forget to press the tick to implement change). At some point, OBD11 will request a security code - follow the prompts and enter 31347 If I apply this solution you shared in the past, will it also apply to Passat B8?

mithatcann : hmmm........... the link works for me!!
Understand that the link is NOT a URL-link, meaning that it does NOT open-up a webpage! When you click-on the link, it will download a .PDF document onto your computer. Depending on which web-browser you use - you will need to access and open-up the file. For example, if you use either Firefox, or Microsoft Edge as your web-browser, click-on the downward arrow on the top right-side of the screen - then click-on notes-3.pdf.
