Hi all, newbie alert!

I just got a new-to-me 2018 GTI Autobahn 6MT. OBDeleven was used by the previous owner and given to me. We collectively changed a few settings around, all is good with the programmer.

One issue with the car is that VW Car Net is not working. I did activate it with VW based on the VIN, but I have no Car Net option in the “Menu” on the radio display, and nothing happens when I push on or hold the buttons down. And I can’t connect to the car via my phone’s Car Net app.

Using OBDeleven to look at the 75 Telematics menu, I attempt to do Long Coding and receive an error that it is not available. Not much can be done in Adaptations in this area either. I am wondering whether I have a hardware fault or not.

I did look at 5F and 19 and verified that Telematics are enabled. I’m not sure where to go from here.

***Is it normal to NOT have a Car Net “Menu” option?
***Where in the car software can I ensure that Car Net isn’t shutdown?

The 75 Telematics module is for the 3 buttons in the overhead console - emergency calls, safety & security, scheduling service - commonly referred to as Car-Net. There are 4 different ‘types’ of Car-Net references, I need help with the 75 Telematics module portion.

Can anyone with these features check their settings and see if they get something similar to the screen shots I posted? Specifically - serial number “unavailable”?

Just checked two cars in my garage that have control unit 75 and in one case it shows a Serial number (Skoda) in the other (Golf 7.5) its like your car.

In both cases I am looking at offline data and i can see long coding information.

I have certainly seen a number of control units that are showing unavailable and when I look in Android when it shows unavailable on IOS then in Android nothing is shown (eg there is no line item for Serial number) so I think this is a bug (which i have reported)

Since my long coding is not displaying, and pushing the SOS and other buttons does absolutely nothing (no green LED), I think my module needs a reset or replacement. Off to the dealer Thursday!
