Bossy: There are at least 3 x different ways of neutralising SS on a mk7 (that I'm aware-of - there could be more)
- Coding change to the CAN Gateway module @ address hex19 - I believe that this is what the App does. See the last option below
- The Temperature method
- The Voltage method.
The last two options are what mathematicians call "mutually exclusive" alternatives in that only one option is available in the control module. The methods for Option II and Option III are:
- Search in the Adaptation section of the Gateway module (@ address hex19) for a "Start/Stop"
EITHER - Select the Adaptation channels Auntemperaturvorgabe-Maximaltemperatur and 'untemperaturvorgabe-Minimaltemperatur
- Change the value from -50.0 to 50.0
OR - Select the Adaptation channel start voltage limit
- Change the setting from 7.6 to 12
OR, the method for Option I is:
- Enter Gateway
- Select Coding
- click on the 01 symbol on the top line
- In Byte 3, remove tick from Bit 2 and put tick in Bit 3
- In Byte 4, remove tick from Bit 0
- In Byte 15, remove tick from Bit 0
Even better - build and install on of these HERE
That's what I did and for the past 14 months, I haven't had to worry about SS. Every time that I switch-on the ignition -SS automatically turns off (after a 5 second wait) and I can re-enable SS later in the journey if I want - but I have never done this because I believe that SS is the most dangerous function in the car!!!!!!!!!!
