probably something simple but I cant work it out.
I have got a couple of apps to work so I think Ive got the dongle and program functioning properly. But the app I was most interested in is "DRL settings in head unit"
the app says its successful and used credits but the option does not display in the car->setup->lights menu? (seems like the app didnt actually work?)
car is 2017 Golf 7 R
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it was the main reason I got the ODBeleven so its pretty disappointing.

Should i pay for that and attempt the above coding? note: I have already ran the automated app (10 credits) which claims it worked.

again thank you for the help its appreciated. I bought the Pro version to check the long coding. That option is listed as "active" but still doesnt work. There is still no extra menu in the car settings. actual listing in the long code is tagfahrlicht aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglich "active" Car is 2017 Mk7 Golf R and has auto light sensor (this is also working as headlights turn on when set to "auto" and its dark) and has the twin DRLs which turn on if I manually put the lights on parker but then also turns tail lights on and dims dash lights.

bossy: I don't believe that I can help - all of your advice thus far seems perfect! Yes, Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge möglich set to active is the correct change for this tweak. Is jdmgolf accessing the correct screen (just guessing)? The process is: - Select Car from the buttons on the side of the media screen. Then press Setup (on the bottom RHS)
- Select Light
- Enable the "tick" on Daytime Running Light (tick-on DRLs on, tick-off DRLs off

Thanks for the help guys... unfortunately maybe something more complicated or to do with Japanese delivered Golfs is the problem? I am going to Car -> setup -> Light but there is no option for "daytime running light" so can not tick on or off. The later model Golf 7 R have a slightly different options in the head unit like performance meters etc. Could this later model head unit possibly cause some sort of issue with the coding/settings? also here are some screen shots of the other settings in that section (in case some other setting in there are causing it not to work?)

try resetting the MIB -with the head unit switched on, hold down the ON/OFF button for more than 10 seconds
If that doesn't work, try resetting the lights to factory setting in the MENU

(MIB goes black, then restarts with start up screen after holding power button for 10 seconds) also reset option to "non active" and back to "active" but still not showing in the menu. Ive e-mailed obdeleven for support. hopefully they can get to the bottom of it.

update. seems like MY17 golfs are a little different, App doesnt work, long coding doesnt work. OBDeleven staff said they can investigate further once they get a new golf in their work shop. But no set date for that one thing I would like to try is to manually code the DRLs permanently on. (dont need the option in the car menu, would just like them on if possible?)

I've also got a JDM MK7 and have the same issue. Must be something with the Japanese model not having the drl setup from factory.

I've managed to get the DRL working on my JDM GTI. It's a combo of some settings plus adding the app. I've got screenshots of what I did but not sure how to share them

It's a combo of some settings plus adding the app. I've got screenshots of what I did but not sure how to share them nzjdmmk7: Not sure about your solution, but my answer is in the set-up on the screenshot below (i.e, - note the active settings on the first screen plus select the DRL as appropriate on the second screen). This will enable the DRLs both on the 0 position and in the AUTO position, but if you choose Normal DRLs in the second screen, you will need to have enabled the Leuchte-sets for Leuchte5 TFL RB32 (right-side lamp) and Leuchte4TFL LB4 (left-side lamp). So - if you try the changes below and the DRLs don't work when you select Normal DRLs, try the setting for Low Beam lights as DRLs. If the Low Beam lights operate as DRLs, this will confirm that you have the correct settings for the adaptation channels in the first screen. Come back to this thread and request the Leuchte programming settings for the normal DRLs Don

Yeah that matches what I have. It's set to normal DRL which is the 3rd option in the list. Also used the app for DRL as well.
Thanks for sharing, I'm sure there will be more wanting this update when more imports start rolling out of Japan

Attempted to use app for DRL's .. 2012 CC R-line.. wasn't sure I had the MFD+.. started the app.. a hour later.. the app was still working?? So I figured I must not have the MFD+ in my CC.. so I unplugged the tablet and turned off and removed the OBDELEVEN.. I found out the MFD+ is the center full screen and not the half screen.. I do have the full screen,so I must have the MFD+.. app didn't work!?!? And I attempted to re-load the app.. I now have a 3 fault codes.. one informing me there is missing data for the lights.. I can't re-install?? And can't clear code?? OBDeleven refers me to Ross-tech long coding post?? Help!?!?

ccbunkHi -I'd like to help, but not much anyone can do to help with such general information. Which App are you talking about - and what was the specific rosstech message? and what is the specific error message.

Awesome, Thanks guys!
I had this same issue, I just purchased a 2013 Mk7 Golf GTI which is a japan import (like most all euro cars here in NZ) and the only way to get the DRL to light up was to turn the light switch/dial to the setting to the right of auto which turned on the DRL and the little light on the stalk inside the inner most U part of the head light.
I used the built in app of OBDEleven to "enable DRL setting in head unit" and then in Central Electric --> Adaptions --> DayTime Runnign Lights, I set Fahrlicht bei Tag to the 3rd option down "normal running lights" in Dv52's post.
Worked a treat, so thanks for that. Was hard to find this info as its mainly American and Eruo based forums/posts that seem to have DRL on by default where Japan must disable DRLs for some reason? Very odd, but glad its working!
