Looking for support here. Have used device a few times before OK. Today the device completed an update and a scan. Then I got a burning smell in the car. I quickly pulled the device and the car hasn't posted any errors since. If I look at the device with the keyway at the bottom, the second pin from the left on both rows has melted plastic around it. How can I get the device replaced, Pro version, as there is no support contact on the OBDEleven site? Is it likely that the port in the car has been damaged? Thanks.

This is unbeliveable this is dangerous. Did you try to contact support via application?

Thanks. kclements: hmm......... real strange indeed!! Here's the PIN-OUT for an OBD connector port The second pin from the left on both rows on the OBD11 dongle is the second pins from the right in the picture above. These are "K" and "L" lines - I had thought that these were current limited. Strange that there was so much electrical current drawn from these pins to melt the plastic. Also, these lines are not used on a mk7 !! Does PIN#16 on the OBD11 dongle look OK (first pin on the left) - I would expect shorting this pin to be more dramatic in terms of its ability to melt plastic! Don

Hi Don
All other pins look normal. The dongle smells quite bad. I've sent it back to OBDeleven.
