Hi just connected the OBDEleven for the first time to my new Golf R Did a scan whilst engine was running and it came up with this.
02 Transmission Control Module
System description: DQ250-6A MQB Software number: 0D9300014Q Software version: 5005 Hardware number: 02E927770AS Hardware version: H54 Serial number: TFK01610291596 ODX name: EV_TCMDQ250021 ODX version: 001001 Long coding: 0014
Trouble codes: P072600 - Engine Speed Inp.Circ. Range/Performance Intermittent
I cleared the fault re scanned and all was clear ,but when i restarted the car and did a scan the error was back. if i scan without engine running its all clear. the car is a week old DSG model and has done 185 kilometers.
is it anything i should be concerned with ? the car seems to run fine with no dash warnings .

Hi, I think it doesn't matter engine off or on, all fault-messages are stored on module memory. During scan process memory has read, each information include the occurrences status, for example "Intermittent", "Static" and others.
I have similar trouble code from my DSG unit:
02 Transmission Control Module .... Software version: 3613 Hardware version: H52 Long coding: 0014 .... Trouble codes: P173400 - Starter release from the selector lever sensor system Intermittent When I cleared this fault message and next I switched ignition off and on, that causes fault back with Intermittent status again. On the other hands DSG works perfectly and no warnings Dashboard appers, on the another forum I found That information if the status is "Intermittent" and no machanical issue occurs, that nothing should be concerned with.
But if car is new - your situation is better, because you have still warranty - just send the fault message to your VW dealer and ask for opinion, is service required or not.
Please let's inform us about your enquiry results. Greetings Jacko

I had the same error code on my 15' R and my 17' Clubsport. Also scanned my friends stage 2 R and got the same code. Strange but due to 3 cars I've tested have thrown this code I'm not concerned about it.
