Hi, yesterday I tried do long coding on byte 29 of ABS module (Brakes module), but on my OBD11 Pro I see at least byte 28. How can I code byte 29? I don't have VCDS to check it on the other diagnostic software.
Regards Jacko

^^^^^ Jacko: hi. I'm guessing, but I suspect that your particular ABS module doesn't have a Byte 29. This is likely to be because the firmware in the module doesn't support the Byte 29 functions. The Bytes are listed on the top line of the coding screen on OBD11 (see below). They are listed in pairs - so just count how many pairs on your car. If your count is 29, then your ABS module can only go-to Byte 28 (because the first is Byte 0) Don

Hi Don, I done backup.
Backup Control unit: 03 Brakes 1 System description: ESC Software number: 5Q0907379AD Software version: 0537 Hardware number: 5Q0907379E Hardware version: H75 Serial number: ODX name: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB ODX version: 008020 Backup name: brakes1 Long coding: 01FA62A120260A6C037D060401C82980460450C0608094F3F86A5028C1 "01FA62A120260A6C037D060401C82980460450C0608094F3F86A5028C1" bytes count is 29 (from byte 00 to 28)
Does it mean can't I activate ESC off/ESC sport function? As we see 5Q0907379 module has software 0537 - is it possible to upgrade firmware by VW service?
Greetings Jacko
P.S. Now my ESC options on MIB screen are Active/ASR disabled only.

^^^^ Jacko: I don't have access to ETKA so I don't know the answer to your question - but simply ask your local dealer since OBD11 can't change firmware - your dealer is the only one who can change firmware (even if you have access to a VCP cable- you would stil need to get the firmware from somewhere).

After a wide review of our forum - I found interesting info on Seat sites at post obdeleven.proboards.com/post/1053MECHANICS -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------... ESP multimodeApplying this modification can have multiple ESP and ASR options depending on how we program. 1 - Module 03 - Electronic brake. Code (40168/20103) 2 - Extended Coding (byte mode) 3 - Byte 29 4 - Bits 0.1 and 2 Activated shows: Activated - ASR disabled - ESP off. 5 - Bit 1 Enabled shows: Activated - ASR deactivated 5 - Bit 2 On shows: Activated - ESC disabled 6 - Bits 1 and 2 shows Activated: Activated - Sport ESC - ESC disabled 7 - Bits 0 and 3 On displays: - On - ASR disabled - ESC Sport. ... Mikel has used "Extended Coding" instead "Coding", maybe it is the right way to get byte 29 for change :-) I need check it in my car, I will give you a feedback.

Jacko: It doesn't matter whether you use extended coding or just plain coding (by ticking the boxes)? The problem with these control modules is that they don't have a byte 29 because the firmware doesn't support the ESP function
