I had a TOTAL MIB2 head unit blackout today after backing out of the garage and driving off normally. Music kept on playing but no function would work or bring the display back. I did several stop/restart cycles but it did not come back. Back home, I tried a restart one more time and the video & functions worked as expected.I scanned the ECU for faults and came up with a B110321 STATIC fault.
Question. I’ve seen “Intermittent” faults before but not “Static.” I presume that means it’s always present? But the display and all functions are now back working as expected. This might be the MIB2’s Achilles heel if a backup cam can take the entire unit down!
I can hear the door/VW roundel logo opening & closing as usual. Is this a Backup camera failing code?

@mrflyguy: Post-up a full copy of the fault details please so we can see precisely what the problem is ("B110321 STATIC" really doesn't explain much)

hmm..... the RVC (assuming it's a low-line version) is energized by a wire that is connected to the right-side reversing light lamp. Does this lamp illuminate on the car when reverse is selected?

Drove it a dew more times yesterday without any issues. I'll check the backup lights. Scott
