DRL works and did turn the amber color. However, I’m receiving an error on my FIS display “Left/Right side light/daylight running light”. Is there a code to eliminate this?

hmm......... there are many reasons why the error might be happening!! If you want help, you need to post-up the changes that you made to implement the tweak - look in History . Here's the instructions for how to cut-and-paste the records into this forum.

I’m new to using OBD11, but I went into the app section and there was selection for this option.

^^^ OK - not much that I can do if you have used an APP for this tweak - look at your history file and you will see that it only records the App date - not what actual changes were made to your module. This is why I NEVER use APPs!
The only suggestion I have is to attempt to use the APP again to turn-off US style turn-lights (but I'm not sure if this will work)

It went back to its original state. The DRLs are now white, but I guess I’m just looking to have the amber “on” as DRL without the FIS giving me an error.

Will this change my DRL to stay amber and not display an error, if I did it this way and not through the app?

@charlietango84 : there are lots of ways of implementing the so called "US DRLs" -try this
Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36 Lichtfunktion A 0 > Blinken links Hellphase Lichtfunktion B 0 > Tagfahrlicht Dimmwert AB 0 > 127 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 0 > Always Lichtfunktion C 0 > Blinken links Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion D 0 > not active Dimmwert CD 0 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 0 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 0 > not active Lichtfunktion F 0 > not active Dimmwert EF 0 > 0 Dimming Direction EF 0 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 0 > not active Lichtfunktion H 0 > not active Dimmwert GH 0 > 0 Dimming Direction GH 0 > maximize
Leuchte1BLK VRB2 Lichtfunktion A 1 > Blinken rechts Hellphase Lichtfunktion B 1 > Tagfahrlicht Dimmwert AB 1 > 127 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 1 > Always Lichtfunktion C 1 > Blinken rechts Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion D 1 > not active Dimmwert CD 1 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 1 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 1 > not active Lichtfunktion F 1 > not active Dimmwert EF 1 > 0 Dimming Direction EF 1 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 1 > not active Lichtfunktion H 1 > not active Dimmwert GH 1 > 0 Dimming Direction GH 1 > maximize

PS: when asked by ODB11 for a security code, use 31347

obrian : No - the information that I have on my database indicates that the 2 x Leuchte-sets in my instructions don't appear on a Golf mk8. Don

Do you perhaps know how I can activate this, so they drive in America with DRL with a piece of flashing light? dv52 (Australia)

obrian : Hmmm........ Short answer is NO (alas) and this is why:
My quick look at the adaptation channel database for a mk8 confirms that there are only 4 x Leuchte-sets in the central-electrics module that are devoted to turn-signal activity - for cars that have LED type lamp fittings. ALL of these Leuchte-sets have a high "Leuchte number" suggesting that they are dedicated to the lamps in the tail-lights - maybe?
If I'm correct, I suspect that Golf mk8s that are fitted with LED tail-light assemblies have 2 x turn-signal lamps per car-side. Is this the case on your car?
Again If I'm correct and from a tweak development perspective, the absence of anymore turn-signal Leuchte-sets means that the front blinkers on these cars are NOT controlled by the central electrics module.
Instead, I suspect that front turn-signal lamps on Golf mk8s are controlled by the Light Control Modules (LCMs) that also manage lighting on the headlight assemblies. If this is the case, then I suspect that it's not possible to change the factory behavior of the front turn-signal lamps because OBD11 has not been able to access LCM coding parameters on previous modules (and I suspect that this restriction persists on Golf mk8s)
