Brand new to the group. Hope to learn a lot in here. Here’s my first question: I have a 2012 Audi S5 convertible. It’s the prestige model with the convenience key. I don’t need the key to start the car as long as it’s in my pocket I can use the start button. Same thing to unlock it. On the OBD 11 I used the app to activate the convertible top via the key fob. I followed the instructions, everything seems to work, A checkmark appeared and said that it was now activated. I have tried everything possible to get this to work, but have had no luck. I even tried my other key fob thinking Maybe there was a problem on my end, but same thing with both key Fobs. I looked into the menu where it starts getting kind of complicated as far as long coding goes and there was a lot of options/boxes to check or uncheck as far as the key fob was related specifically the convenience key fob. I’m thinking maybe that’s the problem? anyway, any help anyone could give me regarding what I may be doing wrong or what I need to do to get this to work I would appreciate. Thanks in advance!

I joined the forum and am in the same situation as you except mine is a 2011 prestige. Went through the exact same process yet there is no activity when when using the key as directed. Has anyone had success using the key fob to control the top?

Hi I also have an Audi A5 Cabrio model year 2013 and the same problem. Unfortunately I have not yet read a tip on how it could work. My problem is, after activating the "Open roof via key" function, "Programming failed" is displayed. I only got so much out of it; In order to be able to open the roof with a key, the function "Open and close window with key" must be enabled and activated. Otherwise it shouldn't work. However, I can open and close my windows with a key. Opening the roof with the key still does not work. There is, however, a module that can be retrofitted independently of Audi and OBDeleven. You can then open the roof with a key.

When I activated the roof, it didn't work.. sad to see my 10 credits Go.. but then I noticed something in one post that made me wonder... So, I also activated the comfort Windows up and down, in addition to the first comfort roof settting...
I used the Long Codes for this part, Comfort System ( 46 ) the third Byte (which is Byte 02) I turned On 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Bit
I had to manually put all windows to roll down to bottom, then manually each window to top, then the Car Systems on the MMI console, (no longer in OBDEleven app, just in the car settings where the Radio, Nav etc live) I went to comfort settings or similar, where you can choose if your key unlocks All doors or not... and I found a new setting to allow Right or Left windows to roll with Key, and turned both On.
All that done, I jumped out, closed & locked the car.. ... pressed Unlock on my fob once, wait a moment, held the 2nd time, and wow, it worked!
bottom line: in my experience, the top wont operate from fob unless the windows can too??
