I would also like to ask for instructions on activating apple carplay on the B8 FL.
From what I gathered from other sources it is currently not possible to do. I have the Discover Media MIB3 infotainment system with included navigation.

I would add similar question here, but for Android Auto in Wireless mode. Any way to activate it in my MIB3? I have 5GHz radio.

Yes it worked for me
Under 5F Multimedia —> adaptions
Function configuration connectivity
-WiFi host spot 5Ghz - on
-WiFi client mode 5Ghz - on
-Google Android auto - on
-Mirror link - on
-Long press to restart the infotainment
-enable hotspot
-enable WiFi
-connect to WiFi
That should do the trick 😊

I have enabled this all, and AA still does not connect wirelessly. When I enable hotspot, my phone just connects to it and that's it.
