In mdo 09The byte 18 it's for cold check. I put this in 00 and work OK but I'm interested at hot check. You know where is the byte for this check?

Later today, I'll bring up my VCDS and post a screenshot. You entering "00" simply means that you've unchecked the box (in VCDS terms) There is a main checkbox that turns it off for all categories. I'll try to post up a screenshot when I get home later today.

Thanks a Lot. I wait screenshot This is the CENTRAL ELECTRONICS module. You have 3 sub-modules to play with, so use my example (in the background window) as it is the same for your car. There is no "hot" diagnosis, just the initial check when you switch on the ignition.

for people here nice to know. Please be carefull with byte 18, especially if hex is 00. It would be not this easy to revert changes then. For more information please ask google. I know what im talking about, i did a mistake in 18 and got a totally light party after that and only with help from admin i was able to fix it.
To Matthew, good to have you here i think you have many skills on using vcds/obd11.

I changed something in byte 18 wich was 00 in my touran (because a vcds/vcp user made a change that my inner taillights also a breaklight), the change i made was normaly for golf mk 6, after changing there was no parking lights, one breaklight was on hole time, no more drl and a reverse light was on. When the byte 18 is 00 and you change something you cannot set it back when you change it back to 00. So he was able to find out what the normal hex number in byte 18 is for my car ( i found nothing in internet) for my car it was hex 8E. After setting to 8E all works fine, i drive again to vcp user and he changed my inner taillights to brakelight again.(this is not this easy to make like it is on MQB plattform, is my information)

Hex 8E to decimal explained:
The value of HEX 8E in decimal is 142. The value of HEX 8E in binary is 10001110.
The above was taken from the internet.
