Hi all, I've not bought this kit yet but am highly considering it, but before I do was hoping I could get some advice!
So my 2016 1.4ecotsi Leon has 3 issues. 1 the auto lights when you first get in the car randomly have a delay to turn on by upto 60 seconds? Other times it's instant
Secoundly the climate control goes to previous setting with ignition on but does not enable fans, when engines on it does enable fans but again with upto a 30 sec delay depending again! And if you set it to auto and then back to manual by pressing the windscreen/user /feet buttons the fan speed does not show on the unit only on the stereo until you adjust the speed, but fans do work!
Finally I thought it might be a battery issues but when holding reset button in speedo, it says 'SOC---'
Is this coding? Have been suggested it by Local garage, they can't find a fault, only thing that came up on a VCDS cable test was nav database issue (unsure why as it works fine) and ECM power relay low circuit P068A (opens too early not confirmed)
I've had it less than 2 months and garage I got it from are unable to fault it... Typically!
Thanks all

I would say that OBD11 Will give you the same errors as VCDS so would not expect it to give you any more.
Re the Battery the SOC on the screen when engine off should give you a % value showing how good your battery is, I certainly coded this to my car but its an older model so this may be a standard feature but i stress the value only shows when ignition on and engine off.
Auto lights Do your DRL's come on quickly or is it only the main lights that are an issue, if its all lights then is the light sensor clear.
i will check out my aircon and see what it does on Thursday

Okay thanks! Didn't know if this would scan different systems.
So if I unlock it now (6am pitch black out) the coming/leaving home lights will come home as its sensing darkness so that works every time! Get in, start car, all the engine light and all come on for a couple secs as all cars do before disappearing, but you might have no lights inside or out for about 30 secs! If your coming/leaving home lights are on then it will leave them on completly and you'll have no interior lights! If I do it once like now, it will not reaccure within atleast 15 mins of getting out car and back in, they will come straight on first time, in my experiacne. I have been suggested maybe Street lights affect it, but usually I'm parked facing away from any light. It isn't every time, about 1 in 5 times... Maybe!
SOC does come up, I havnt done any coding ect, but it just says 'SOC - - - %' so it's either coded wrong, not atall, or can't get the data. That is with engine off ignition turned on and back off. (can't do it with ignition on it just resets service light).
The climate unit, could you possibly let me know if it goes back to previous setting on ignition engine off? Mine shows temp and direction airs going but doesn't start fans. Then when turning engine on has about a 30 sec delay sometimes! Then as I said going from auto to manual it shows fans on stereo unit but not the lights, let's say I'm more than annoyed with this car!

Sorry been tied up most of the day. So both VCDS and OBD11 Do the same thing (at a very high level) so all the control units that they can find will be scanned and errors reported so Baring bugs I would expect the output of the scans from both VCDS and OBD11 to be the same although if anything you may get more in VCDS. With regards to your specific issues. SOC - Yes I forgot this only works with ignition off and on my car shows 70% Climate unit - When I set Auto or Manual level and turn on the engine there is a 30 second delay before fans kick in, on the Manual setting the red lights slowly climb back to the previous level but as you say fans dont kick in for around 30 seconds. The Auto process does not show red lights from Factory (on pre facelift car anyway) but you can code them to be shown using OBD11/VCDS/caristaappapp Auto lights on mine as soon as i hit the open on my remote the lights turn on (to be fair did not check the internals but would expect the same. Same in reverse when I lock the car the CH lights turn on straight away - no delay on my old car anyway.
Update had to go back out to the car and double checked the internal lights come on when door is unlocked and whilst the CH Lights stay on internal lights dim very quickly after door closed.

Hi, thank you for your very detailed response! Firstly am I allowed to post video link here for you to see or is that not allowed? As I have a video of climate and of auto light issue.
SOC doesn't work so I basically can't do anything with that, have read online that it's not ment to work on the smaller engines, unsure how true that is!
So the fans kick in with ignition or only with engine? And on ignition do they still say temp and where air going but just don't come on? If I switch to auto (obviously pre face-lift I have no fan speed lights on this without activation) and back to manual, the fans work, the speed lights show on stereo screen in setup but not on actual unit (easier shown in video)
Yes my interior lights work same, but when turning engine/ignition on it will turn all lights off internally with the delay, and if coming/leaving home lights are still on they'll stay on, if not then they delay with the internals. Again this is at random!
Also my climate 'auto' feature on a cold day was having same slow fan speed on all settings including high, but working very fast on low. Have been thinking about it alot today, is there a cabin temperature sensor? And if so can I view it somehow? Thinking maybe that could be broken? Only noticed this when I was recording it for seat Forum, maybe that sensors naffed and auto light sensor naffed as two seperate issues?
If you go out at night, and shine a torch/outside light/street light at auto light sensor do the auto lights still turn on? As they have suggested that maybe a street light is stopping auto lights coming on, which never affected my older cars (2014 and 2016 Leon also)
Again thank you for all of your help!

I will go out to car later tonight, but to test the light sensor just put a cover over the light sensor and see what that does. I will double check but to me it looks like the fans only come on by themselves with engine on but I will double check
Update
Yes check last night, ignition on and no fans start in manual or auto mode, however as soon as you touch the settings (switch from manual to auto) then they start.
When I go on to ignition the temp values are displayed as are the buttons for direction but under normal conditions the fan only starts after a short delay after starting engine.
but as above can be forced to start by messing around with settings.
Did not get a chance to look at the light sensor will try and do that over the weekend.

Again thank you for your response your a great help! Sorry for long reply I had a call say seat found fault so thought I'd wait to get back before replying.
So pergeot sent to seat who found issue with light sensor, seat changed it and tested and said all good.
Picked it up today, lights delayed to turn on imidiatly, was annoyed, changing from auto to manual on climate poses same issue. Told them they're calling seat. On the way home auto lights turned off AGAIN! (2ND time since owning car). Switched to manual and worked, when stopped switched back to auto and they worked fine again? No fault flagged on car!
Auto lights will delay at random as stated but just made this as easier than explaining!

Now I may have learned what could cause the light delay.
So when I get in and coming/leaving home lights are on, the main interior light comes on, but the clock lights does not light up. If I wait for the coming /leaving home Lights to Finnish they're cycle there is no delay in auto lights. Are the lights ment to come on with coming home lights? Thinking maybe if that's coded wrong from new, maybe aircon unit has too?
Auto lights actually don't delay, all of the interior lights delay (I thought it was all but I must have been mistaken)
