Hi all,
I own two years now a Golf mk 7.5 from late 2017. From the very first day I got an (sporadic) error on the cluster about a bulb error on the right back taillight. Since the units are led, I can't check or replace the bulbs. Back to the original VW dealer but there are no problems known about this and there are no recalls, they did nothing. When I check for this code at audi there are some recalls about this issue known.
I get the error sporadic when starting the car and pressing the brakes. Sometimes it doesn't come up.

But this makes no difference. The error is from the start only on the right light, but it functions normally. Wiring is also correct and fuses to.
Does someone maybe know how to disable this annoying message, as there are no recalls/svm update (known to me) avaible?
Thank in advance!

Hi Don, Attached the log. The doorlight fault is also some weird stuff. Door light was retrofitted, correctly, but can't seem to get rid of that error.. Do I have something wrong in the adaptions? But if it was something like that, I should have it on the left side to I guess. The taillight function is further working correctly (glad to..) Attachments:history incl faults.txt (241.87 KB)

venigo : hmm.......... as currently programmed, your hex09 module has the Parking Light function and the single-side-Parking-Light (SSPL) function at zero illumination for both Brake lights. This can't be road legal in your country. The other oddity is also the right-side Brake light is programmed with the left-side SSPL function.
try these changes :->
Leuchte21BR RC8:
Lichtfunktion D 21 > Parklicht rechts
Dimmwert CD 21> 28
Leuchte20BR LA71: Dimmwert CD 20> 28

Hi Don, Thanks for the reply. Adapted your suggestions only (one) dtc still comes on. B12BF15. When I set the light switch off and clear dtc and press the brakes > no dtc. When the light switch is at auto and the lights are on, I get the dtc. Also without brakes. So the symptons are when the lights are on. Are there any leuchte related when lights are on and linked to right back taillight / low beam light beside 21BR RC8? ^^^hmm........... what a mess- Who programmed your rear lights?
Just noticed in your new back-up file that the 2 x Brake light leuchte-sets are programmed for incandescent lights, but your car actually has LED fittings (I think). Try changing Lasttyp to 34 -LED Bremsleuchten on Leuchte20BR LA71 and Leuchte21BR RC8Don

Hi Don, Honestly, the bcm is a retrofitted one. Updated by SVM and did do all factory codings and adaptions by odis. Retrofitted seat heating / ergo active seats, so the bcm was a midline and replaced to a high and updated and coded. It is indeed weird that it was @ channel 13 because the standard facelift taillights are led to. When I turn terminal 15 (light switch) off, clear dtc. The dtc doesnt appear. When low beam / city lights are on and when terminal 15 is on, the dtc appears. I played a bit with the led value (you can see in the log, haha) from 100 to 127 etc. To test, but these are back to 100 (else brake always on). Sorry for that. Also tried the 39 instead of 34 and some couple more, but there is no difference on that. I noticed one time, I did get beside B12BF15 a B12CF15 dtc. (lamp2). When I check at audi recalls (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10094126-0699.pdf) it could also be related to the licenseplate led lights or trunk stuff (when trunk is open, the lights go on.. that trunk tail light tweak). I am almost thinking that I am at the wrong channel for this light dtc, since it is not linked/related to the brakes. (And I am almost intent to dump the ecu and remove the p code in winols... grrrr haha). Are there any other channels for right taillight? history.txt (838.83 KB)

My suspicion is that you have the incorrect memory locations for Lamp monitoring - try this Leuchte24SL HRA65-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 24 > 2A (36) Then try clearing the DTC - if problem still exists - leave above and try this Leuchte27NSL RC6-Lampendefektbitposition 27 > 1A (0) Then try clearing DTC again - if problem persists - leave above and try this Leuchte23SL HLC10-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 23 > 29 (35) The bracketed values are your current settings

Hi Don, I tried the changes. But when the second one is adapted (1A). The error comes up in instrument and doesn't dissappear. Got two dtcs on that: Fout codes: B12BF15 - lampje voor rechterachterlicht Onderbreking/kortsluiting met plus Permanent B12C115 - lampje 2 voor rechterachterlicht Onderbreking/kortsluiting met plus Sporadisch Now I don't like that orange light (because it is not correct), I had currently set the bits at 0.. And now there is no fault (it is logical, because monitoring bit and dtc is at 0). Aside this issue, I noticed the leaving home lights are not on. But this is something else. Any idea where to find the correct monitoring bits (since the ones that are from factory coding/adaptions also are not correct..) Attachments:history 1.zip (186.79 KB)

venigo : If you have set the fault monitoring channels to zero and the error messages have cleared, my suspicion in my last post is correct. No - I don't have a list of the factory settings for your particular BCM (5Q0-937-084-CG), but I was able to find a 5Q0-937-084-CF in my database.
Here are the channel settings for the tail lights for LED fittings:
