I can't get OBDeleven to work with my Polo anymore. I can't establish the bluetooth connection. Now I tried it wirh three different Android devices. Android v5, v7 and v10. All three without sucess. First: The bluetooth pairing seems to be ok. When i plug in the FirstGen dongle, the LED lights red. After clicking on Connection I can select "OBDeleven" from the device list. Then a turning circle shows me that OBDeleven tries to establish a bluetooth connection. But after a while there pops up a red window at the bottom of the screen with the error "Connection could not be established" (self translated German-English by me). Locations rights are granted. So what can I do now? Are the FirstGen devices are not supported anymore? It's annoying, if you only would to change something on the OBD setting of your car and then you are playing around for an hour trying to establish a connection...

Sorry dont have a simple answer, what I can say is that I have shared the old version of software with two people to get Android v5 to work and today there are several people with issues around Android v10 but to be fair not connection just seeing specific control units.
Firstly I would go into your app and then Devices and remove the device completly then go bluetooth and delete the pairing then go to app and either delete and reinstall or clear data cache first. Then try again on Android V7 and 10 and see if that makes any difference.
The old white dongle is still supported.
Just a reminder you must have a good WIFI or Mobile data connection.

I get it to work. But the connection works only when the motor is running - NOT with ignition on. Odd. I am quiet sure, that I did OBD programming in summer without the motor running - only with ignition on. Or am I wrong?

The app normally works with just ignition on and engine off. It's odd that it only works with the engine running :/

What I can try is adding an external power adapter. Maybe the voltage is too low. But I measured 12,5 V. Normally this should be enough.

i do majority of coding sith ignition only i only have engine running when doing full backup as this process appears to suffer with low voltage

That's also my experience. Therefore I first thought the dongle is broken. Then as my "last trial" I tried it with engine on... and was surprised that it worked. So the question is how can I fix this? So that I can code with ignition ON.

raise it with support via the in app help function, tell them the problem and hopefully they will have a solution

I can't answer why it won't pair or doesn't maintain Bluetooth connectivity. However I can confirm the First Gen does work, mine came today, I have a polo Mk6 FL GTI. Connected every time with ignition only on, and maintained connection even through the long backup.
Sorry I can't offer any real help, but thought I'd at least confirm First Gen works. Definitely contact support, maybe a Bluetooth timeout issue, or a faulty OBDeleven dongle maybe, hopefully they'll sort you out.
