Hey everyone. Three things Im working on figuring out.
1. How do you disable the backup camera feature. I found how to turn of the video portion in multimedia/longcoding/rearview low, but I can seem to find what controls the badge from opening up when I throw it in reverse
2. I have already set u auto-lock as well as turning on door lock/unlock with engine running. I think they are a fantastic pair of mods. It is possible to set it up where it won't auto lock if the car is running?
3. Small one...Id like to turn the staging feature in the dashboard off. I don't really need the car to tell me which gear I'm in being that its a manual and I hope I should know that information. I found staging yes/no in the dashboard coding, but it doesn't seem to do anything...
Also, anyone know what the Rough Road Setting in the brakes module actually does?
Any info for the above would be appreciated. As I am learning Ill try to spread the information as well...

I think I know the answer to your first question but not the others unfortunately. I'd love to know a solution to your #3 question.
So the reverse camera is tied by a wire to the right reverse light - whenever the light comes on, it knows to pop itself out. You'd probably have to either disconnect/cut this wire that goes to the reverse camera, or code out that reverse light so it doesn't light up anymore. This is for the low line camera, not the fancy 360 one.

I don't think you're asking the right question here. "Staging" refers to the initial sweep of the instrument needles when you switch on. Nothing to do with gear info AFAIK.

hmm ok, good chance Im mistaken. So what would it be called then?
and I will check out the back up camera wire today. I just junked my 2003 golf, which I was much more comfortable just sniping wires on...I feel like there has to be a coding ability to shut it off, but so far I can't find one. so maybe its a hardwire mod.

I did that, and it does turn off the video portion, bit I can still hear the badge opening up and closing...

stun4000 : Hi again!! Yes, my suggestion wasn't intended to stop the badge from opening/closing. You asked for a software solution and my suggestion was just that! If you want to stop the badge from opening, then you will have to follow 2018gti suggestion - which is of course a hardware solution! The low-line RVC is a dumb device (meaning that it's NOT connected to the CAN bus) - so you can't stop the badge from opening, via OBD11, alas
