Hello,
This weekend I installed an OEM aliexpress camera in my girlfriend's car. The coding adjusted now I only get a message that there is no signal from the camera and the image remains black the camera it selfs pops open.
Things I've Tried:
Camera placed in my own car! camera works! Bought a second camera harness and this tested does not work either. Coding checked (5F & Parkassist)
Maybe someone here has a solution?

Connected to the right place on back of mini in glovebox, solid connections as their just not slide in, you have to pop off the sides of the blue plug then slide in the pop the sides back into place, also are they the right way round Also some discover media units don’t work with RVC

So just to make sure, you connected all four wires to the fuse box/ radio, you connected the one to the blue and black to the reverse light wire, camera flips open, and did both the program in long coding in 5F and 76, what fuse did you connect to in fuse Box?

Post by mcclooney on Oct 25, 2020 16:21:36 GMT
VWJap Yes the black/blue wire i connected to the right reverse light on the same black/blue wire that exist there. with my multimeter i have tested that its getting 12V the 2 wires the black and white one i connected to the blue box on the radio pin 6 and 12 as in de video above. the red wire i made a extension on the mib main power 12v to test i have directly connected it to the cars battery with a 7.5A fuse.
Coding i did correctly with the obdleven. in the 5F and the parkassist module.
Camera pops up scrreen shows the camera menu etc butt the screen stays black, also have a second wireing harness did test it quiclky butt the same result. to make sure it was not the coax cable that was broken. 1! then i decided to test the camera in my own car here it works correctly, tryed my camera in my GF car it stays black again. very frustrating haha!
Looks like everything works only the camera it self is not getting power or is not turning on..
Dont know what i can do more...

I’m sure the lowline camera is dumb and wouldn’t send any messages to the 5f, whereas the highline is canbus so could send a message

@mccloomey: Hi. With vwjap indulgence, a couple of thoughts: First, as I understand your camera is the low-line type, so the link in your post above does not apply. Please confirm that you have a low-line reverse camera. Second, are you sure that you haven't reversed the video signal connectors on the quad-connector @ the rear of the MIB unit? The sheath of the coax cable is earth and it connects to pin# 12 and the "active" signal wire connects to pin#6 - as shown below: Here's the pin-out designations on the quad-connector - I've highlighted the 2 x pins. Please confirm that the video cable is correctly terminated Don

@ mcclooney : hm........... so here's the thing - I've seen many, many scan reports for mk7/7.5 vehicles from various diagnostic cables, but yours is unique because it replicates the same MIB equipment on 2 x separate hexadecimal addresses (i.e. hex56 & hex5F). Generally (always?) MQB platform vehicles DO NOT have a hex56 module! My belief is that you need to fix this problem first before you will solve your RVC fault. So, tell me about the MIB equipment - was it factory fitted to the car, or was it retrofitted?
Also, please tell me more about the hex56 entry on your scan results - do you have an early scan for this car that you can compare with the information in your post above? And, are there any records in your History data that shows when the hex56 module was registered in the Gateway module installation list? Don

Hi dv52
Is there a way to reset the bcm so it will remove the 56 radio module?
I don't have a old scan, the 5f module works perfect for the rest...

Hi dv52 Is there a way to reset the bcm so it will remove the 56 radio module? I'm not sure, but I suspect that there may be a misunderstanding as to the role of the BCM in your problem. To be clear, I don't believe that the BCM is implicated at all in this matter! The "Installation list" on MQB platform vehicles that defines which modules are legitimately able to be polled resides in the Gateway module @ address hex19 (not the hex09 module).
But on OBD11 software, there is an automated facility ("AUTOCODE") that can be used to align the physical modules connected to the CAN network with the Installation list. Our fellow colleague, @testeronline authored the post below which eloquently describes how AUTOCODE is enabled. Don
the autocode process can be found here cupra280.co.uk/obd11.html#AutocodeHowever to make it easier 1/ From the Main menu select Settings
| 2/ From Settings Menu ensure Autocode Gateway List is set to show, if not change it to show
| 3/ Connect to car and you should get the following popup box , Select Yes and any missing control units will be ADDED
| | | |
if the popup box does not arrive I suspect the autocode process does not think you are missing any control units. Once you have selected the control unit double check the status of it (if the number is in a Black Circle then its not being picked up as a live control unit by OBD11)

dv52 (Australia) Just to add to this (and I updated the web page) I am afraid for some reason they have not included this feature in IOS Version yet so for IOS you have to manually add or remove items.

This does not remove the 56 unit I enabled it my self and then the auto code pops up butt it does not remove the 56 control unit
