I've since found this suggestion...
My car is an MY20 (Feb 2020 build) and I had no problems turning down the Soundaktor using OBDEleven. It is the Pro version. This is how to do it:
Select ' Structure Borne Sound' Control Unit
Select 'Adaptation'
Select 'Volume of structure-borne noise actuator'
You can then adjust volume of the sound generator as a percentage. By default mine was set to 100% but I changed it to 0%.
With the above change the sound generator is not heard in any Drive Modes, including Sport.
