Hello. I have a slight coding issue and I was told by Paul at DAP that there is an app to solve my problem.
What is going on : I installed UrbanJoke app with stock tail lights on.
This passed Thursday night, I installed OEM LED tail lights, which worked fine. At this time, Urbanjoke is still installed in the vehicle, so the LED tails worked just as they were supposed to with Urbanjoke.
Fast forward to Saturday morning. I installed the harness to make the amber turn signals work, and then I installed DAP LED TAIL LIGHT HARNESS app. At this point, I lost my regular lighting for my tail lights BUT the Amber turn signals and my brake lights work fine. Just no parking lights.
So, as of right now, I need to know if having the UrbanJoke app AND Dap LED Tail Light Harness App installed at the same time is causing my tail lights to not work correctly.
Thank you.
John

sixpackvw: I can't follow your story! You installed Euro LED and then you installed the Urban joke App- is this correct? Urban Joke App can't "activate itself"? It has to be activated by the user. Not sure why DAP is involved in the exercise - what is DAP's role?

Hopefully you can answer my question and help figure out my issue. Thanks!

^^^^ I'm still confused, but I assume that you want to implement the DAP (with harness) settings. Given that the only problem is the parking lights - you could try implementing the settings in my 2nd table below (DAP) for the two Parking lights only as an initial try. If that doesn't work why don't you restore the car's original settings and then start the DAP tweak from scratch? I've never used OBD11's Apps, but I understand that it's possible to reverse the settings back to their original values using the App. You could then buy the DAP App for 100 credits - if you wanted to do it this way! Or, you could try doing the entire exercise manually (my preferred method) Here's the table for the Urban Joke tweak that I translated some time ago (Version 1). and here's the DAP harness tweak that I also translated to OBD11 speak some time ago: Don

Popped over and checked with myself, wasn't able to get it coded back with either the "fix" app or by using the urban joke app. Using dv52s instructions I manually coded it all and it's working fine for sixpack now. Lights look great and work as expected.

Thanks shamibal: OK - the problem is not insurmountable! What you need to do is to first reverse all the changes that the Apps have made and get the settings back to the original factory values. If you look at the table in my previous post (regarding Urban joke), you need to change ALL the adaptation channels to the "STOCK setting column. It's a lot of changes, I agree, but if you proceed carefully and methodically, you should be OK. After you have done this, you can either use the DAP app, or you can save yourself the 100 credits and make the changes in my second table manually (I recommend doing the latter) Done

When you say "first change all values back to stock settings" can this be done with the obd eleven shamibal: OK - you are asking a very fundamental question, so I'm guessing that you are not an experienced user of OBD diagnostic devices (like OBDeleven). The (short) answer to your question is YES (look through the FAQ on this forum), but the fact that you ask the question implies that you probably shouldn't proceed with my suggestion because it's a fairly long and complex set of changes that need to be made. Probably not something that a new user should do as his/her early exercise! If you can find a forum colleague with more experience that lives close to you, then I suspect that is a better approach. If you live in Australia, I would be more than happy to help. Don
