Hi Don, is your 23 page explanation of Leuchte channels something publicly available? I'd like to learn more about how it works.

I am not sure what's the best way : first option: keep white Drl , switching Drl off makes the orange leds illuminate second option : make the Drl orange, switching Drl off , makes the white leds illuminate Option 1
Try this- it works on my test-bench: To add the DRL ON/OFF switch on the MENU, set Außenlicht_Front-Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglich to active
Change these:
Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36 Lichtfunktion A 0 > aktiv 100% Lichtfunktion B 0 > not active Dimmwert AB 0 > 100 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 0 > Klemme 15 mit Nachlauf. Lichtfunktion C 0 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion D 0 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Dimmwert CD 0 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 0 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 0 > Blinken links Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion F 0 > not active Dimmwert EF 0 > 0 Dimming Direction EF 0 > minimize Lichtfunktion G 0 > Blinken links Hellphase Lichtfunktion H 0 > not active Dimmwert GH 0 > 100 Dimming Direction GH 0 > maximize Leuchte1BLK VRB20 Lichtfunktion A 1 > aktiv 100% Lichtfunktion B 1 > not active Dimmwert AB 1 > 100 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 1 > Klemme 15 mit Nachlauf. Lichtfunktion C 1 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion D 1 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Dimmwert CD 1 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 1 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 1 > Blinken rechts Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion F 1 > not active Dimmwert EF 1 > 0 Dimming Direction EF 1 > minimize Lichtfunktion G 1 > Blinken rechts Hellphase Lichtfunktion H 1 > not active Dimmwert GH 1 > 100 Dimming Direction GH 1 > maximize
Another thing, What is the difference between or the meaning of two DRL Leuchte-sets per side on Audi A3 ? Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte4TFL LB4 Can you explain? They are both active in my car ..... Here's a very cut-down version of the wiring diagram for the pins (T46b/4 &T46b/10) that are controlled by the 2 x Leuchte-sets: So - I suspect that Leuchte4TFL LB4 establishes the power supply requirements for the DRL module in the headlight assembly - but I'm guessing

Can confirm as of today that this tweak does not work on Matrix-equipped A/S3 What i got was an error regarding the front turn signal, the indicator on the dashboard is doing double pace to indicate an error, and the front and rear indicators are no longer scrolling.

akkipej : hmm....... the tweak probably does not work because the car uses Light Control Modules instead of the central electrics module to operate the matrix headlights

Are you aware of a workaround for this at the moment? If needed i'll be able to provide scan data from matrix-equipped MQB-cars

Hi Don, I’ve been reading a lot of you’re work on this forum and myself i code a few years to an extent. I’ve did this coding and it works (us lights go on or off as they should), but the us lights also come on when i lock the car (coming home) and when the coming home is finished the US lights stays on and doesn’t shut off. (So car fully closed) *p.s. when I’ve bought the car the previous owner had the US lights coded first and then coded it out, But also the DRL were off in the “0” position I’ve could never turn the DRL on even if i turned it on or off with the mmi, also nothing when i lowered/raised the footwell lights. In all the other light options the DRL works as it should. Excuse me if it’s a long explanation haha!

gofast : Hmm..... I'm not surprised, I think that I wrote michelaudia3 solution for a specific purpose (which I very much doubt applies to your situation) For your turn-signal lamps, try this instead (I assume that your car has LED type turn-signal lamps): Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36 (left-side front turn-signal lamp) Lichtfunktion A 0 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion B 0 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Dimmwert AB 0 > 127 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 0 > always Lichtfunktion C 0 > Blinken links Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion D 0 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert CD 0 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 0 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 0 > Blinken links Hellphase Lichtfunktion F 0 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 0 > 127 Dimming Direction EF 0 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 0 > nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion H 0 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert GH 0 > 0 Dimming Direction GH 0 > maximize Leuchte1BLK VRB20 (right-side front turn-signal lamp) Lichtfunktion A 1 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion B 1 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Dimmwert AB 1 > 127 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 1 > always Lichtfunktion C 1 > Blinken rechts Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion D 1 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert CD 1 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 1 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 1 > Blinken rechts Hellphase Lichtfunktion F 1 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 1 > 127 Dimming Direction EF 1 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 1 > nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion H 1 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert GH 1 > 0 Dimming Direction GH 1 > maximize
For your DRLs, I'm not sure what the problem is - the previous owner could have made any number of changes!!. My hunch (guess really) is go to the central electrics module - then adaptation - then check that Außenlicht_Front-Tagfahrlicht nur in Schalterstellung AUTO is set to not active

Thanks for you’re quick response!
I tried the coding above and ive got rid of the turn signals (us lights) that stayed on when I closed my car, I also could turn them on and off in the 0 position on the light switch. The only thing that i didn’t “want” is that the US lights stay on in every position auto/parking/main beam.
The coding in you’re last sentence I checked and is set to not active.
I could live without the white DRL in “0” position, and switch to US lights using the MMI as I have now.
Funny thing is that I have the car almost a year, always wanted to fix this but everytime something came between it, and now i am intrigued to fix it and also learn the leuchte settings. haha!
I appreciate you’re help a lot.

gofast : Hint - if you don't want US lights to stay switched-on when the main-beam, or high-beam are ON: - Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36 - Lichtfunktion B 0 > not active
- Leuchte1BLK VRB20 - Lichtfunktion B 1 > not active

Thanks that worked!
Only thing is now when i set my parking lights on it will give an DRL “light” error. (I have the led headlights)
It doesn’t bother me a lot because it reset after turning off the car, but it’s funny that these leuchte settings are so complicated.🤣

gofast : I can't possibly have that happen - I don't do "errors" The DRL problem is likely something entirely different - post up pictures of Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte4TFL LB4. To be clear, I need to see ALL 19 x channels for each Leuchte-set

gofast: hmm....... very strange Leuchte-programming!!!
Try this (I assume that you are using VCDS):
Leuchte4TFL LB4Dimming Direction CD 4 > maximize Dimming Direction EF 4 > maximize Dimming Direction GH 4 > maximize Dimmwert AB 4 > 127 Dimmwert CD 4 > 127 Dimmwert EF 4 > 0 Dimmwert GH 4 > 0 Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 4 > 49 Lampendefektbitposition 4 > 48 Lasttyp 4 > 1 - LED Tagfahrlichtmodul Versorgung Lichtansteuerung HD AB 4 > Always Lichtfunktion A 4 > Daytime running lights Lichtfunktion B 4 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht: Positionslicht: Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion C 4 > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv Lichtfunktion D 4 > Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) Lichtfunktion E 4 > not active Lichtfunktion F 4 > not active Lichtfunktion G 4 > not active Lichtfunktion H 4 > not active
Leuchte5 TFL RB3
Dimming Direction CD 5 > maximize Dimming Direction EF 5 > maximize Dimming Direction GH 5 > maximize Dimmwert AB 5 > 127 Dimmwert CD 5 > 127 Dimmwert EF 5 > 0 Dimmwert GH 5 > 0 Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 5 > 4B Lampendefektbitposition 5 > 4C Lasttyp 5 > 1 - LED Tagfahrlichtmodul Versorgung Lichtansteuerung HD AB 5 > Always Lichtfunktion A 5 > Daytime running lights Lichtfunktion B 5 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht: Positionslicht: Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion C 5 > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv Lichtfunktion D 5 > Parking light right Lichtfunktion E 5 > not active Lichtfunktion F 5 > not active Lichtfunktion G 5 > not active Lichtfunktion H 5 > not active

haha yes I think it’s strange, because I hate to say it but now the us lights give also DRL error in the 0/Auto and parking light position. ☺️

huh.......... how is it possible for you to get a DLR error in the parking light position? DRLs aren't turned-on in PL position!!
Post-up values for the 4 x Leuchte-set

Hi Don,
I am new on OBDEleven just received my Audi A3, I realize the reverse light in night is not enough. is there any way by OBDeleven I can turn on rear fog light or something similar during reverse to have better visibility during night, any reference to code will be very helpful. Thank for you kind time.
regards,
Umer

Umer: Hi. The short answer is YES - you can illuminate what ever rear tail light(s) that you want when reversing. But of course, any additional lamps will be the color of the light chosen
You need to add the Leuchte command Rueckfahrlicht to an unused Lichtfunktion channel and then give it an appropriate Dimmwert level which is 100 if the chosen lamp is incandescent, or 127 for LED.
If these words don't make sense, tell me which lamp you want to add to the reverse function

Hi Don, I have been reading all your post and I must say your work is truly impressive. I wanted to find out if it is possible on a 2018 8V A3 with Led DRL to have the front dynamic, the rear is dynamic but would it possible to have the front also dynamic.l?
Thanks

dersen: Dynamic LED fittings require an electronic "chaser" circuit to make the individual LED sequentially illuminate. This is a physical piece of kit that's normally embedded into the lamp housing. AFAIK, MY18 versions of A3 8V do not have this circuit on the LED DRL lamps Don

Hello! Need help, I screwed up the dynamic coding of the rear lights of S3 2018 USA, now the turn signals of the outside lamps do not work. I would be very grateful if it comes across factory encodings 16-21 (A to H)

Good afternoon, it is possible to make the front arrows of a q3 F3 NO Matrix dynamic, I can't find the right “Leuchte”.
Thank you for your help
