I've had my OBDeleven for about a week now and have done LOTS of coding tweaks to my US spec 17' GTI SE. I love this site and it is fun to read, learn, and try many of the things others have done, but I can't find a solution to my current problem. What I want is for the static cornering lights from my Bi-Xenon housing (not the fog lights) to come on with the turn signal, then gradually dim when it goes off. They did this for a while, but some further changes that I made to other lights must have messed it up. First things first, this is how I have things set now: Central Electrics - Static AFS light - Vorschrift - FMVSS_517_108
I thought that maybe the changes I made to the fog lights might have messed up the cornering lights. I currently have them set to come on with high beam (push or pull). I also had set them up to be on all the time that the low beams were on (pull knob no longer did anything). I thought that maybe there was something built in that the cornering lights might not work while fog lights are on, so I have since set the fogs back to normal, other than leaving them synced with the high beam. I also removed the NAR restrictions, so it is now set to ECE. Oh yeah, I also turned off the DRL wink with signals (I think).
One other minor thing I can't seem to figure out is how to get the DRLs to not come on when the parking lights are selected on the switch. Here's my goal for the headlight switches: off: all lights off (works) Auto: front DRLs in daytime, obviously normal low beam at night (works) Parking: only yellow parking lights in front and normal red in rear (***need to turn off DRL***) On: Normal low beam (works) I would like the fog lights on all the time the low beams are on, but not if I can't have cornering lights too.
I'm still new at this, so please let me know what additional info any of you might need to help me.

Thanks for the response. Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier. The dynamic AFS function of the main headlight works fine, it's the static cornering light or turning light that no longer works. It is a little halogen bulb that is mounted to the side of the Xenon assembly. It's labeled in the top/center of this picture: It used to come on every time the turn signal was on. As for the DRL's, I already have them programmed as "only in auto" mode. Yet, they still come on when the switch is in the parking lights position. To your point, I guess VW has them double as parking lights. I was just hoping to only have the yellow lights in front on when "parking".

I'm not sure what other changes you have made - but, ALL of the NAR model mk7s in my database have static AFS light-Vorschrift factory set to ECE R119. With this channel set to FMVSS_517_108, the H7 lamps will illuminate with the turn signal - so they won't respond to the steering angle (so they won't operate as normal "cornering lights"). Try using the ECE R119 setting As for your fog-light question - I can't understand how the related Leuchte-sets are currently programmed. Please post-up the settings on Leuchte12NL LB45 (I need to see ALL 19 x adaptation channels). Don

Now I'm understand why I was confused with cornering vs. static AFS. I guess I was hoping to have both, but I guess that is not an option. Thanks for clearing that up. I don't know which one would be better to have. Any suggestions? It doesn't seem that I can get the static AFS (H7 lamp) to work with the turn signals anyway. This is what I had working that I really liked, it but stopped working, which is what prompted me to write this post soliciting help. That is also why I had changed the static AFS light- Vorschrift setting to FMVSS_517_108. Per your advice, I changed the Vorschrift setting back to ECE R119, then re calibrated the basic headlamp setting. I would think that with NAR restrictions removed, these headlights should be pretty dynamic and helpful without the need for the static AFS. As for the DRLs, here is how I have the Leuchte12NL LB45 set up:

Try this:
Lichtfunktion C 12: = nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion D 12: = nicht aktiv
a greeting
I tried it and there was no change. I even reset the head unit, then turned the key (button) off and on before trying them. Also, I forgot to mention above, that after changing the Vorschrift setting back to ECE R119 (and re-calibrating the headlamps to clear the error message), the H7 lamps still do not come on with the turn signal.

^^^ccrameusc: I've been reading your dialogue with adrianvw with interest following my first suggestion. Regarding your second point above - as I indicated in my first response, the use of the H7 lamps as cornering lights and illuminating with turn signals is an "either or" situation, you can have both. This is a software restriction you just can't change - alas!
As for your first point- Leuchte12NL LB45 is NOT the DRL Leuchte-set; this Leuchte-set controls the left-side fog light on some cars, and the left-side all-weather light on other cars. It's mate for the equivalent right-side lamp is Leuchte13NL RB5.
If you are wanting to delete the DRL lamp turning-on when the LDS (rotary light switch) is in the Parking Light position, I suspect that the relevant Leutche-sets will be Leuchte2SL VLB10/Leuchte3SL VRB21, or less likely Leuchte4TFL LB4/Leuchte5 TFL RB32.

I tried changing The E2 and F2 settings under Leuchte2SL VLB10 to not active, saved it, then turned on the parking lights. No change from before. The U shaped DRL lights were still lit on the left side. So I put the settings back and tried it with Leuchte4TFL LB4. Same thing, no change, so I put them back. I've given up. It's really not that big a deal. It's pretty rare that I park and use my parking lights as parking lights were intended (in the US). At least I was able to get the DRLs off when the LDS is in the off position. Thanks to those of you who have chimed in helping me. I'll keep an eye on this forum to see what other coding changes people come up with to see if I want to try anything else. So far here's the list I have done based on the info found primarily on this forum: Full Rear Brake Lights (x5 Lights), DRL Only in Auto Mode, Sunroof Opening With Remote Control, Tap to Indicate – Number of Blinks set to 4, Closing Windows When Ignition Off, Temp Warning set to 1 and 3, Rear hatch pop using keyfob, AC temp tuning (run in change), Fog Lights operated with High Beam Lights, Bright reverse light, Remove NAR Restrictions, Turn off Wink, Starter button heart beat, KENCHA TAILS V2.
