Hello! I recently received an OBDeleven unit secondhand, and am having some trouble with it.
I believe that I am doing the connection procedure correctly, but as soon as the dongle connects to my phone and I go to open the app, the connection fails.
Here is what I have tried:
Car is off.
Insert OBDeleven dongle
press ignition for accessory power
connect Bluetooth to phone
Then as soon as I close the settings app to open the OBDeleven app, the dongle disconnects and will not reconnect unless I "forget" the device and retry.
I have been unsuccessful in connecting the dongle in the app at all.
the dongle is showing a solid red light and has not changed this indicator light at all.
My phone is a Pixel 3XL running the latest version of andriod (google phones are a few updates ahead of all other android devices). Is it possible that the android version I am using is TOO new somehow?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd really love to get this working.
Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for getting back to me.
I just gave it another try:
1) car is off.
2) insert OBDeleven
3) turn on ignition
4) connect via bluetooth (it again instantly disconnected)
5) went to OBDeleven app and pressed connect
All the app displayed was a spinning circle saying "connecting". I let it go for over 2 minutes and it was unable to connect.
The car is a 2018 mk7.7 GTI if that helps!

Please edit your post if you want to add more information. If you just do a second post the thread gets confusing very fast. I've done that for you this time Do the following procedure: 1) Active bluetooth on phone 2) Optional: Pair dongle if not already done(Pairing means not connecting) 3) Plug dongle into your car 4) Turn on ignition 5) Open the app 6) Open the burger menu 7) Press on devices 8) If there's no device listed add a new one 9) Go back to main screen 10) Press connect Let me know if this works

I followed your instructions and it still did not connect, so I went ahead and removed the device that was saved in the settings and added the correct one. Working now I Did notice that I have a code for an "open circuit" for my soundaktor (which I did physically remove from the vehicle) which will not clear in the app. Is there any way to rectify this? if not, not a huge deal. Thank you again for the amazing help!

Nice to hear that it works now Have fun using OBDeleven. The fault won't disappear because it's static. As far as i know there's no way to suppress this fault but if someone knows better let me know.

I looked for this on various websites including youtube and solved it using to test the Bluetooth device battery.
