Looks like the geniuses as VW decided to disable the garage door opener unless the ignition is on. Anyway to fix this?
thx!

No? Am I the only one that wants to use the opener when the Atlas is off?

I don't necessarily want it active all the time, but would love to have it powered as long as the radio stays on (until the driver's door is opened). It seems there should be a way to do it with OBDeleven but I don't know how.

+1, I always park in the driveway but frequently bring in groceries and other large items through the garage. The amount of times I've turned off the car, only to turn it back on to open the garage door has been maddening.

I'm guessing it can't be done through OBD11. My bet is that the fuse it runs off of is switched power meaning it is only physically powered when the ignition is on. Without rewiring there's probably no way to make it work.

This is the only vehicle I've every used or owned (well over 20) that disabled the Garage Opener when the ignition is off. This is not the only poorly designed item I've seen with the Atlas SEL Premium. This may be my last, and only, VW vehicle I buy after having owned several Toyota, Nissan, Ford, the VW has a lot of little annoying quirks and simply missing items for a >$50k MSRP vehicle.

I had a 2010 BMW E70 X5 with homelink and it did the same thing. I’d catch myself hitting the button after turning off the car and having to turn it back on just to open the garage. Figured this being 10 years newer I wouldn’t have that issue and yet here we are...
