Hello everyone, having a problem connecting the OBDeleven to my 2017 Audi S3 (8v). The device connects to my phone but cannot connect to the car's ECU (it displays the "turn the ignition on" message) despite multiple attempts.
I don't think it is defective since it works fine with my 2009 VW Passat where it connects normally, diagnoses errors, etc.
Also the S3's OBD-II port works normally as I can read data fine with a different cable from both the ECU and TCU.
Is there any known incompatibility with the vehicle? Anyone with a similar model having faced the problem?
Thanks

It should work properly with your car. You can try clearing the app cache and data or reinstall but since it's working with other cars i don't think that will fix the issue. You can try to connect with your hood open cause audi installed some firewall on newer cars. You can contact the support via the app and tell them your problem. I'll report this aswell and i hope this will be fixed asap.

Maybe any of your friends have it?

Unfortunately I do not have access to another Obdeleven, only to a standard OBDII dongle.

The problem has finally been solved following customer support's reply and I am posting the solution here for future reference.
The solution is to have the bonnet open while connecting!
Although it makes no logical sense to me as to why this should be the case, it did work first go! I can only assume that opening the bonnet puts the car in "service mode", i.e. the ECU is programed to behave this way.
Many thanks to Obdeleven's customer support.

It's great to hear that this problem is now sorted out. I edited my first post on 31.08.2019 and added the hood thing maybe you have read over this.
