Hi All,
My wife and I bought a brand new 18' Alltrack SEL a while back and we decided on the SEL so she could have all the safetys and helpers but we noticed that BlindSpot monitoring is not available on the SEL top of the line model, only the S or SE... What gives???
Has anyone figured out how to turn blindspot monitoring on for the SEL? We have all the other features like lane assist and ACC.
Thanks!!

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM or, Lane Change Assist) uses 2 x radar units (called J770) that sit in the rear bumper area (one on each side of the car)-
AFAIK, these radars aren't used for any other purpose - so it's unlikely that "SEL top of the line" model would have these modules if not fitted in the factory as part of the car's build with BSM option. But it's easy to check this with your trusty OBD11 dongle - if your scan report shows a module @ address hexCF then the radars are installed
Of course the other piece of kit that is needed for BSM is indicating LEDs that flash whenever the radars detect a vehicle in the blind-spot area. I'm not sure where these LEDs are fitted in the SEL, but in most VW/Audi cars these are installed on the side mirrors (note: the BSM LEDs are separate to the turn-signal repeater LEDs). Does your SEL have a 2nd set of LEDs for this purpose?
