heavier than in the sport setting
1. Select control module 44 (Steering Assist - or something like this on the OBD11 list)
2. Select Security > enter 28183, or 44595 (these are my new codes -the old code 19249 won't work on this tweak)
3. Select Adaptation
4. Find Support Power - the default setting for this adaptation channel is 100% (or 1) 5. Change to 80%(I prefer 40%) - the lower the setting the "heavier" the steering wheel becomes
Problem is once you turn your car off it goes back to stock.
Anyone know how to make it permanent?

^^^^^^^^^^^ Mark: Hi. Ever since I originally found your new security codes and posted my results on the RT forum (see below), I've had a string of PMs asking the very same question! Fact is that there are only 3 x security codes for this control module and the two that you have tried give exactly the same result. My conclusion given this behaviour is that this adaptation channel was intended to operate in this fashion - so alas there is no way to change the outcome! However, some folk have been able to get a similar, but not so dramatic response by altering the setting for Characteristic curve of steering assistance in the module @ address hex44 Don

I have altered this curve with instructions found in another thread... assistance of steering curve or whatever it was called... so rather than driver profile select it is now set to dynamic. Does this mean it wont change with the different drive modes anymore?
