Hi all,
I'm wanting to purchase a pro plan but I have a bit of a hesitation due to my car.
I wanted to retrofit a reverse camera in to my Audi S3 2017 model.
To do this I borrowed a friends VCDS, which I got to the security code part of address 9 (central electrics). I tried all the security codes I could find, none were accepted. Error 00.
I only need to program a reverse camera and nothing else, so to buy a laptop and a VCDS dongle, it's too expensive for it's one single use.
I'm happy to buy obdeleven because it's much cheaper, it works off my phone and is way more convenient for me.
But will it be able to get the security code? Or will I have the same issue as with VCDS? If it can, I'll purchase now.
Will it also work on an Android tablet?
Thanks
Wayne.

This has a large list of all the known security access codes so if its not shown on OBD11 then you should find it there.
According to OBD11 Site its a supported model so on the assumption that there is nothing wrong with your OBD Port it will work.
As this is an Audi when you tried to do the changes with VCDS did you open the bonet, if not then it will not accept the coding from memory.

Hi,
So I have to open the bonnet before adding a security code for 09 Central electronics?
I never knew that, but I'll give it a go.
Thanks!

wb1983 : :To add to my colleagues advice - my hunch is that you have exhausted the limits of the module's ability to accept security codes! Or said another way - you have tried to enter too many security codes in the one diagnostic session. The modules in your car don't like this!! ALL modules in your car have a very small capacity to accept incorrect attempts to input security codes (it's two, or three attempts) - after this, the module "spits-the-dummy" and refuses to accept any more attempts for a lock-out period which counts-down with ignition-ON I discuss this matter further HERE
Don.
PS: whataboutthis suggestion with the bonnet is a requirement for the 8Y/GY models (post 2020 build) of the Audi A3/S3 range -so not applicable to your MY17 car - I think

Hi both,
I checked the security lock out this morning and it wasn't even showing any wrong codes had been entered, the lock out code was at 0.
If it helps, it's the module BCMMQB 017001 that won't accept any security code.
What do we reckon, worth purchasing OBDeleven witha pro plan in the hope it will access it?
Regards
Wayne.

Also, if I purchase this and it cannot write to BCM (which would make the device useless to me) can it be returned and refunded?

Wayne: OK - let's reset this conversation and start afresh
First, instead of "BCMMQB", do you mean BCM MQBAB? Look again at the descriptor in the screenshot on my link. Here is the equivalent VCDS screenshot
Notice that both say "Security access: Number of invalid keys". As implied by these words - the number in the security lock-out ONLY increments if the security code that you entered is WRONG
So, if you have tried entering a security code into the BCM and then you checked the security lock out and "the lock out code is zero" - it means that the module has successfully accepted your security code!!
I'm really not sure what you are trying to do when you say "I only need to program a reverse camera" and "I got to the security code part of address 9 (central electrics)" But the BCM is not involved in BOTH versions of reverse camera (i.e. the CAN based camera and the low-line camera) on MQB platform cars

Hi Don,
Yeah I checked that screen and as in the picture, mine is at 0 too. I have tried many security codes and that number doesn't change.
I have purchased an OBDeleven pro plan, it'll be here on Thursday, so let's see how that goes.
Yep, I've made a reading error from too many sources on how to code this thing.
Thanks for your help.

Hey. I basicly have the same question. I'm ordering a obdeleven to be able to reset the transmission in my 2009 Volkswagen rabbit. I know that the obdeleven works with the rabbit. But I cant seem to find it under the model listing. Any help be appreciated. Thanks !

email support@obdeleven.com they will be able to confirm you can do what you want or if you have the app then use the help function that will connect you to support but be aware they do quote one day turnaround to questions.
