Hi,
I have a US Audi A3 etron.
I need to turn off the front amber parking lights which are working together with low and high beams. Basically, I want the amber light to work only for turning and emergency lights.
Today I tried to use OBD11 for this purpose. I used the adjustment called - US Style turn lights. I selected OFF and used 10 credits, but nothing happened. Later I figured out that it turned off turning lights, but parking lights continued to operate. Can you please help me to turn it off using long coding or coding by OBD11?

yaroslav : do you have a back-up of the central electrics module for this car? If so, post-up a copy and I'll take a look.

hmm.... your link doesn't work for me - apparently I don't have access.
Please keep dialogue and informationabout car-repair stuff in the forum proper (see the request in my signature)!

OK- If I'm reading the Leuchte-sets correctly, the two front amber lamps operate with the following lighting functions: - Parking- light
- Single Side Parking Light
- Coming-Home/Leaving-home
- Turn Signal
If you want to delete the Parking Light function from these lamps - do this: For Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36 and Leuchte1BLK VRB20- Lichtfunktion A > nicht aktiv

Dear Don,
Your suggested coding worked well. Thank you very much!
2 more requests: 1. How to turn off amber position/marker/side ligts on the front lights. They turn on with parking light and or low/high beams?
2. Is it possible for DRL in the bumber to work all the time. When low/high beam is on, DRL turns off.
Thanks

1. How to turn off amber position/marker/side ligts on the front lights. They turn on with parking light and or low/ high beams? hmm...... color me confused!! As you can imagine - I don't get to see many Yankee model E-Trons on the streets down-here in the very, very deep south!! I've re-read the Leuchte-sets on your back-up file and I can ONLY find one-set that contains the high-beam Leuchte-commands on the lamps for the car-front (other than the high-beam lamps themselves, of course).
These Leuchte-sets are for the left-side/right-side lamps that Audi call "all weather lights" - which are the LED lamps that point side-ways. However, according to my reading of the Leuchte-commands, these lamps switch-OFF when high-beam is activated. They don't operate as per your words that I have colored blue above
2. Is it possible for DRL in the bumber to work all the time. When low/high beam is on, DRL turns off. So- here's the thing about the way that the DRLs are factory programmed on this car: the 2 x lamps in the bumper either don't have reflectors, or if they do - the reflectors don't have cut-off characteristics. This means that if the lamps are illuminated after dark, the 2 x bumper lamps will very likely blind on-coming vehicles. This is why Audi have NOT activated these lamps with low/high beam lights!
Now, I have no idea how tolerant Americans, or the USA authorities are to these matters - but I suggest that you give serious consideration to the impact of this change to your fellow drivers- please!
With the caution above made - try this:
For Leuchte4TFL LB4 and Leuchte5 TFL RB32- Lichtfunktion B: > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht, Positionslicht, Begrenzungslicht)
For Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte3SL VRB21- Lichtfunktion G: > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht, Positionslicht, Begrenzungslicht)
- Dimmwert GH: > 30
Because of the blinding-effect of this tweak - I've constrained the DRL lamp when illuminated at night to about 30% (see highlighted change above). I suggest that you start the tweak with the value of Dimmwert GH =30. Increase this number if you want - but do so conservatively please

Dear Don,
Thank you very much!
For item 1 I attach a photo of this lamp, which I would like to switch off. I prefer that it is off all the time. I do not need it in a parking light or low/high beam. Please help. I use this car in Europe and cars do not such lights here. It is the US thing only.
For item 2. I understand your concerns. I will consider this.
Kind regards, Yaroslav

Please confirm how the lights in 1. operate with High-beam (are the lights in question ON, or OFF when high-beam is switched-ON)?
Where's the "photo"?

Hi, i checked the light with the high beam and continues to work.

OK - if the lamp still illuminates when high-beams are switched-on, it means that there is no separate Leuchte-set for these lamps on the central electrics module. This means that these lights are wired in parallel with another light that turns-on as a parking light. Which means that the only way to delete these lights is to physically disconnect the lamps

Thanks!
I think I have read that it is connected to the license place light.
In such case is it possible to dimm this amber light a little bit?

OK - to reduce the illumination level of the license-plate light, lower these values for Leuchte25KZL HA59: - Dimmwert AB 25, or
- Dimmwert CD 25

Thanks, it worked!
Now it is clear that it is possible to deactivate these amber bulbs only by physical disconnection.
Although I am not sure that there is a connector which you can access to disconnect them. These bulbs maybe hidden inside the light.

@yaroskav: Again - because this is a "Yankee" vehicle - I don't get to see these type of vehicles down here in Australia. Nevertheless, this is how I believe that the "marker" lamps are wired (maybe?)
To explain: - J519 = central electric module
- The Blue circle that highlights T73a/59 is the central electric module pin that is controlled by Leuchte25KZL HA59.
- The Green circles that highlight M34 & M5 are the left/right marker lamps that are ONLY installed on "Yankee" cars
- The Red circles that highlight T14 /8 means pin #8 on the 14 x pin headlight connector
So- if my reading of the wiring diagram is correct - disconnecting the wire on pin #8 on the headlight connector should disable the marker lights

thanks, Don!
What is the chance that disconnecting this wire will send an error report to the dash board?

I'm not sure - normally for lamps that are controlled by a Leuchte-set - removing/disconnecting the lamp WILL generate an error message on the dash.
However, if you look at my wiring diagram, you will see that this particular Leuchte-set controls a number of lamps. So, some lamps should remain in-circuit (I think) when these lamps are removed
I'm hoping that maybe the continuing electrical load won't trigger an alarm - but an error certainly IS a possibility!! Anyhow - if an error is generated, simply replace the pin/wire and clear the alarm Don
