Hello, I'm new to this world and want to use the OBDeleven to apply some modification to my new Audi A3 8Y I was wondering : if I apply in-app modification, - does this modification will remain if I bring my car to Audi maintenance ?
- or they are reset only if the update the MMI
- or even better they still alive if they update the MMI
Thank you for your help !

alex6 : Hi and welcome to the mysterious world of OBD11!! Because your questions are of a general nature, of course my response must also be likewise broad in reply. First a word about what you call "in-app modifications", which I assume are One-Click-Apps (OCAs). OCAs are used by lots of folk and they obviously have many advantages to those that don't want to learn manual coding. However, OCAs are not all up-side! One of the major disadvantage of OCAs (beside the cost) is that they don't leave any records of the changes that they make. This is not a problem if the OCA is successfully implemented - but it's a BIG problem if the OCA goes pear-shape. My reason for highlighting this aspect of OCAs is to make sure that your decision to use these products is informed. Personally I avoid using OCAs for this reason! So, to your specific questions - If you take your car to an Audi dealer for routine maintenance AND this is what happens (i.e. there are no additional services that Audi implement on the car)- then NO, the changes that you make should not be affected. The only "coding" changes that are made in this instance is that the readiness flags on the engine module are reset (I think). Again as a general response, if the firmware/dataset in a module is updated, you should expect that coding settings like adaptation channels and long-code will also be reset to factory values. This is NOT always the case, but as I say - you should expect this outcome. Don
