Hello. I have a US spec 2017 S3(premium plus). Was using OBDeleven since long ago but have an idea that seems no one have tried. Inspired by some trucks, I would like to have my side mirror blinkers turn constant on when for example, on a crowded highway, to increase some visibility.
Is this possible after all? If so, I preferer they come on only in parking light and manual low beam modes, so the auto low beam mode will behave normally. To clarify, my switch has 4 modes: OFF-AUTO-Parking-Low beam. But if difficult, make side blinkers completely synchronize with side marker is okay. Thanks in advance.

This (or, a very similar) question has been ask before. What you call the "side mirror blinkers", is known as "turn signal repeater bulb" in the Audi wiring diagram.
So, I'm not sure about North-America-Region (NAR) models - but I suspect that they are wired the same as other models in the Rest-of-World (RoW) fleet of MQB platform cars where these lights are concerned. If so, then the problem is that these "repeater bulbs" are wired directly to the the driver/passenger door modules. This is in contrast to the car's other 35 x exterior lights - which generally are directly wired to what OBD11 calls the central electrics module.
On MQB platform cars (like your Audi A3 8V), lamps that are wired to the central electrics module can be programmed to operate in a number of ways. The process for making changes to these lamps is called "Leuchte programming" and each individual lamp will have its own "Leuchte-set".
However, the driver/passenger door modules don't allow "Leuchte programming" (alas).
Bottom line (and again assuming that NAR cars are wired the same as RoW models)= not possible!!!

Don, you are correct. I did find options to enable or disable the blinkers in door modules but nothing more than that. I believe it can still be achieved by hardware modifications but given the chance that people simply ignore even on duty emergency vehicles, the increased visibility just won't justify the effort and possible point of failure. Time to stop...
While there are limitations, the dongle and posts including yours helped me make lots of other useful tweaks. I appreciate it!
