I've got the facelift Leon and when I activate the app the needle sweep doesnt work. I did this on the pre faclift model and it worked fine.
Has anyone else had this issue?

I reverted the change and then reenabled it and it worked. It works on my O3 facelift, but I noticed that only works when it detect the first try with the key but if you do it after turning off the enging without extracting the key, it doesn´t work, can anyone confirm me that? ty!

just tried this on my 2014 car which came with this as standard.
If i turn ignition on get needle sweep, If I turn ignition off and straight back on again no sweep however if I turn ignition off (leave key in) and wait 5 seconds and turn it again it works.
Same with taking key out if i do it very quickly I can make it so sweep does not work second time but if you take time then it works.

Needle sweep does not work every time. When you turn off ignition, open door, close door, lock car, unlock car, open door, close door, turn on ignition , then it will work again. It the procedre when you normal leave car and come back later and get into car.

May in golf 7 facelift it needs a total control unit shut down/can bus shut down. Wilk it work when you leave car and come back after 30 minutes or next day?

No, I turn off the car yesterday evening and today morning when I switch it on I don't see any needle sweep movement.

I can only comment on the older pre facelift cars
As Daniel said earlier it does work on the older cars but with features.
We have had a number of threads on the seatcupra.net site where (as Daniel pointed out) if you tried to turn on and off very quickly then it did not work but otherwise it was fine.
I suspect VW have changed the coding (so that other stuff happening takes priority) and that is why its hit and miss,
Sorry it does not help

Doesn’t seem to work on my new FR, but I may have not carried out the procedure correctly. I don’t know what MIB Lighting reset is.

I think I’ve worked out the answer to my question, I believe it is a reset if the lighting section in the infotainment screen.

Reset the lighting section or the instruments setttings in the MIB doesn't solve the problem, needle sweep works only sometimes, tested again yesterday.

Have you tried a full factory reset (not just lights) to see if that helps, I do seem to recall not all cars's support this but I would hope if you used the app it would say so.
Last thing to try is undo and re do the change and see if that makes a difference.

Mine seems to work most of the time after a lights only reset, it seems to fail if ignition is switched on/ off / on in fairly quick succession, I’m fairly happy with the way it is.
