Greetings, I wanted to ask about the latest versions of the VAG group app. I guess there are people it has happened to.
I have been a user of the application since the beginning of its birth, in fact I have both the white device and the last generation black device.
I have a car from the VAG group, a Leon MK3, which reads it without any problem, I am not a workshop nor do I do such things, but from time to time, I use obdeleven to see faults in a friend's car, etc...
I have noticed that, in some cases, it does not automatically identify the car, and I have to do it manually (I can understand that), but, when it comes to scanning the car, it seems that it is doing it and when it finishes, I see that the Unit numbers are all black, instead of green or red if they are faulty. And if I try to get into any unit, he tells me to try again... but he doesn't identify it and I can't get into any of them.
It doesn't happen with all of them logically but a couple of days ago, I passed the obd11 to a friend with an Audi A6 Allroad from 2003, and he has not entered any of the units, he did the scan, (I had to tell obd11 manually that car was), but at the end of reading the 24 units, it said that it had no errors, and when entering each one of them manually it would not let me.
However, I passed him the carlyapp, and that one has read the car perfectly...I don't understand that an application and device, special for VAG, cannot enter cars of that brand and other generic devices if they do. What is happening? The programming of the app has gotten worse? The device is not suitable for old cars? The firmwares that are updated are only designed for new cars? Well, I remember that I used it in its day in old cars and there were no problems... a greeting...
