Hi. I'm in the UK and have noticed that a Union Jack (British flag) is missing from the Control Units / Faults screen. There's the US flag denoting English, but no Union Jack that I have seen in pictures and videos of OBDeleven in action. Anyone know how to get access to a Union Jack?

As far as I’m aware the US flag is as you suggested for ‘English’ and that’s all you get, you will have to read American txt. Really it should be the UK flag for English and the the Americans should have to read proper English 🤣

I don't know the answer, but maybe the version of English (UK, or USA - but definately not Australia) is determined by which site the OBD11 software is initially loaded from - which I suspect is largely determined by the country of the user when setting-up an OBD11 account? Just a wild guess

I am afraid the simple answer is sloppy standards by OBD11 As dv52 (Australia) Showed on the IOS Screen the languages have flags and English is shown with Union Jack although this app only supports one language. Android supports App and Database languages and these options are all in text no flags. On the Long coding helper in IOS you only see the codes that are in your language. In Android you can select any language that has codes but again this feature just uses text. But back to snowdog original issue, in IOS the Faults when language is set to English are shown with Union Jack. But in Android its with the US Flag (see below)
Same applies to Manuals (which they don't have on IOS Yet) the flags are shown with US flag.
You never know when they eventually get round to delivering the new UI for Android maybe they will fix it then

As an OG android user I commented on what I see which is the US flag , please remember that not all users are iOS,android still has some features that iOS is missing I see no reason to change to iOS

carbonchaos I was not suggesting you change to IOS, I personally have both just so I can test and see the differences. In my opinion the Android App is much better than the IOS One and has many more features and from this site many things that work that don't work on IOS. But my point was the OBD11 Team are rebuilding the Android app so its more IOS Looking (hopefully they wont screw it up to much) along with BMW, Charts and maybe some other fixes to the long term bugs. Further pointing out that Android as you correctly said has the English with the US Flag but IOS uses the UK Flag.

hmm..... I'm really not sure what problem is caused by having either USA, or UK country flags shown on the OBD11 app. Putting aside any concept of patriotism (looking for nationalism on a diagnostic device might not be the best pursuit) - does it really matter?
Don't get me wrong - I don't intend any offense to those in either country and I really do understand the power of language (especially the written verse). However, when used in a diagnostic device - language is simply a tool (IMHO, of course) - it's nothing more than a medium to translate software into meaningful script for the user. Yes, there are differences between UK English and USA English (and Aussie English)- but for the vast majority (maybe ALL?) of those who understand English, these variances are arcane at best when used in a diagnostic device (I think)
What am I missing?

Personally I only dislike the lack of consistency across the platforms (including the various web pages) as that leads me to believe they don't keep a tight control on standards (another example would be the number (A 29 vs IOS 30) and names (A Ukrainian vs IOS украї́нська) for the languages.
But I did see on one of OBD11 Facebook / Twitter accounts a user come on and complain about the Ukrainian flag (along the lines of its been on there long enough can we go back please)
So it comes down to peoples personal preferences I guess.
