So since I enabled Offroad on my MIB2 PP the dash water temperature (analogue) gauge doesn't work.
I do have a working temperature gauge in the offroad menu, so it clearly isn't a dodgy sensor.
Any ideas? It could coincidentally be that it is broken, but I don't believe in coincidences...

baldchap: As I said. I don't have MIBII, so I haven't implemented this tweak. But lot's of folk have installed this tweak and yours is the first that I have heard with this problem. The coolant temperature sender (G83) on a mk7 is connected directly to the engine control module (J623). The information about temperature for both the instrument cluster and the MIB unit is transmitted via the CAN bus (it's transferred from the Powertrain CAN bus to the Convenience CAN bus by the CAN Gateway-j533)
But I'm not sure why this has happened on you car (only) - You could try selecting another gauge on the display, or you could try reversing the changes - to substantiate if there is a link.
Please provide feedback- as I said this is a fairly mature tweak and this is the first that I have heard of this problem.

I'll back it out (and all others if needed) and see what we can see. Not for a moment blaming anyone else.
Do you know if there's a way to physically test the mechanical gauge needle movement?

That said, I do try to ensure (to the degree possible) that tweaks give minimal problems and as I have said, whilst I haven't been able to personally verify this particular function - it is a mature tweak that many have implemented -without errors.
As for your question, YES there is a way of testing the gauges. It's not that complex - hopefully my screens shots below will be self explanatory! When you press the tick on the last picture - a testing routine starts which displaces the 4 x needles on the instrument panel (i.e. temperature -fuel level- speed - Engine revs) to various levels in unison. Alas I don't believe that there is a way of testing the needles individually. I've tried this test on the instrument cluster on my test-bench (my 'virtual mk7') and it appears to work OK , Again, no guarantees that you will have the same experience - but I see no reason why it shouldn't work on your car!
However, I would be very surprised if this test finds a fault with the temperature gauge - but anything is possible, I guess

Thank you very much!
I do of course appreciate anything on here that I try is at my own risk, I only respond here because you seem to know everything there is to know about this stuff! And I appreciate your help!
