Hi guys,
I have a facelifted Audi A6 C7 2015. The MMI version is RMC and I have retrofitted myself a CarPlay box. Everything works more or less fine, except that the CarPlay box supposedly uses the car’s AUX IN channel for the audio transfer. However, under armrest I can see an AMI port and also when I go to the media screen I can see Bluetooth and AMI, however no AUX option. The AMI is grayed out as I have nothing plugged in the port. From what I understand either one of the AUX or AMI is enabled at a time.
The question is how can I enable the AUX in place of the AMI so the sound comes properly from the CarPlay to the car’s stereo via the AUX channel. I have read a number of articles online about how to do it in a Audi MMI 3G but it seems that nobody has ever commented about RMC, except that it is done differently compared to 3G.. I just recently ordered the PRO version of OBDEleven hoping I could do this with it and it still seems to be possible as long as you know what long coding/adaptation to change..(which I obviously don’t..)
Cheers! 🥂

Hi. did you get this sorted? I have same issue, apparently there is some Aux pin behind the MMI unit which needs to be activated. can you please confirm if you manage to active Aux using OBDeleven? the issue is i can go to green screen but there is no diagnosis menu from where one can activate Aux. One garage said that carplay box needs to be connected via AMI but my AMI is under armrest and i dont want cables coming out of MMI and then connected to AMI under armrest. Can you please confirm if you have aux pin behind MMI main unit?

Hello. I don't know this will work with a6 c7 but i coded it very fast in a3 8v . You can try. Connect with 5F module (multimedia) > long coding > byte 8 > untick bit 5 (AMI) and tick bit 4 (AUX). Code and should be ok. It works perfect in mqb platform with ami

Hi, so I am also a c7 owner and I have also installed the carplay unit in it. After I took off the glove box the airbag light checked. Even though I put the glove box back into place the airbag light still shows up. I didn't unplug any of the wires that the glove box connects to the car. Have you had the same problem as me? I have one or two screws haven't screw in place yet will it be the problem? Thank you!
