Hi all, can someone confirm that obdeleven can unlock VIM in Audi A4 B9, for all devices? I mean files on USB and SD cards, not only for DVD and Tv?

Hi all, can someone confirm that obdeleven can unlock VIM in Audi A4 B9, for all devices? I mean files on USB and SD cards, not only for DVD and Tv? Yes, just done it on mine and it plays video files from the SD card fine. My only gripe is that I assumed buying the 'app' for 100 credits (£12) would allow me to enable/disable it as and when I liked - but no, it's 100 credits each time to change it. Bit of a rip off.

Hello, yes it cost 100 credits, but why you need it turn off and on more than one time? When you go to a programmer in germany and want to have vim it cost between 50 and 150 bugs. And he turn it also on for one time. I think these few bugs are not to much. Its round 50 bugs when you only do the vim (for dongle, pro and app). I can only say for what obd11 can do its the cheapest thing on market. But if someone are so unhappy to pay these money buy vcp or vcds for 400 bugs and more.

Sorry, didn't really mean it's a rip-off - poor choice of words (I shouldn't post when I'm tired!). I think it should just be clearer that it will use 100 credits each time you change it. I agree it's still the cheapest way to achieve VIM. Looking forward to some other apps for the B9 - it's a bit sparse at the moment.

Ok then i missunderstood you, sorry. Ok may you are right that it would be fine to get a notification that it cost each time i use an app. I write these information to FAQ.

Why would you want to turn VIM off? If you enable vim, does that mean you lose access to the rest of the mmi? This thread has me concerned about enabling VIM.

Hi, my Audi is A4 2017, I can not see video not even if I am parked, I just only can listen music, I have read that OBD11 will enable VIM for those cars that want to see video when driving (and when parked they already can), but in my case I am not able to see video not even when the car is parked.

Actually the app says that can't unlock VIM on MY2018 with firmware >1116. I succesfully unlocked VIM on my MY2016 with firmware 0976. I don't know if upgrading firmware from dealer can relock VIM.... who knows ? BTW, please upgrade app to support newer firmwares!!!

Hi, I have an A4 b9 of 2018 and it doesn't let me unlock the video movement, I spent 100 credits for nothing, since when you start the march you don't see the video, you could help me

Hello, tested on 2016 and the app says it's not supported. Do you think it will be possible to do vim through long coding?

When you go to an Audi dealer, to have a regular service, and they update the SW of your car. You lose all your codings, without a choice. Happened to me, yesterday. So now, to have all the codings back, I need to spend all the credits again. Maybe OBD Eleven could allow that the codings that are recorded in the History of the App for a car, could be done again in that car, without spending again more credits. Seams fair to me.

Happy to report that I tried VIM and opening the hood to code did the trick! The OBDEleven app says 2018 and certain MMI software version after whatever it says in there won’t work, but it worked on my 2019 A4 (MIB software version 1329).

Hello just to confirm that VIM work now with the new version MIB (1329) Hey, how did you manage to run the app? For my car (A4 allroad 2019 facelift) I don't see the app in the list, however if I connect to my old A4 2017, I see it.

Trying to enable vim on my 2018 S4 B9 without success. I have mib firmware version 1320. I know the app states it won't work for 2018s with certain software versions - but I see some have had success with firmware version 1329, but it seems that is not for the US? Has anyone had success with an updated firmware on a US 2018 A4/S4 - if so which version? Thanks

I have a 2019 RS5 and contacted support before I purchased to verify that VIM would be enabled. This was the response I got: "Edvinas August 24, 2021, 06:26 +0000 You could do it with this pack: obdeleven.com/en/home/61-starter-pack-0758277987806.html" I purchased. The option was there. I turned it on. It saved, however it doesn't work. I contacted support. They asked for my version number (1320) and then told me: "Tomas September 03, 2021, 02:54 -0400 Hello, I have contacted the OCA developer team. It appears that VIM is not currently supported for your vehicle. Our team is working on it. Let us know if you have any other questions." Now I'm stuck with it I guess. Tomas says they are working on it. The car is almost 3 years old so if they are working on it, they must be working on it for a very long time. I would not recommend purchasing OBDeleven if you are interested in only VIM and have version 1320 on your audi. Other than that, it seems like a solid, awesome product however with an RS model car, most of my options are already enabled and this becomes simply a diagnostic tool which doesn't do me much good considering the car is under warranty for the next half a decade.

Did you perform the procedure with the hood of the car raised? (Google translator)

I have tried it both ways, hood open and without hood open. It seems this version 1320 is not going to work at all :/

Also confirming that VIM app was added to all list for Audi A4 (B9.5) MMI 1329, and it works with hood open (100 credits justified). Wonderful! Many thanks to developers.
