I have been trying to get my area view 360 camera to come on by default in reverse. For some reason when I shift into reverse, I have to press the menu button (top left of screen) to get the 360 cam to show next to the backup cam.
As I understand, the US regulations that went into effect in late 2018 caused this change. I had a 2018 atlas and it used to come on by default, but now my 2019 Arteon won't.
I got coding from a euro arteon for the 6C rear camera module and it appears the difference is in byte 8. The legal screen setting should be set to off, (and hex value 00 for byte 8), but when I go to do it, I get a (31) function not available error.
I tried clearing the app cache and data and re logging in, but it didn't help. Then I tried changing diagnostic modes, but none of the different modes made a change. I finally tried to manually change the hex value by entering it in, but got the same error.
I am confident byte 8 is the issue so I am looking for guidance on how to get this changed.
Any ideas?
