gianry obviously the descriptions are online but i suspect that most of the descriptions are in the English database language Or do you mean something like this obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/3262/control-unit-setup which is out of date now and I am currently updating all the descriptions online on the Pre Facelift car (so I think they copy across to the golf)

Yes, I know the database is online and in English but I've noticed there. lot of bit at "1 " without a description

Long code helper is where the user community maintains the labels. I have done an article on some of the issues here and check out an old youtube video that will give you an idea

My understanding is they don't share anything, its down to user community to figure stuff out.
It will be interesting to see how things have changed in the new cars coming out to market as there is talk of higher levels of security and it will be interesting to see if we have more stuff moving out of long coding into adaptations (like they did with central electronics).
But if you look through there are a lot of answers in other languages and I am personally trying to update all the english ones so we have one full set, then we can start to copy across to other languages.
Two issues i have with the current user defined process is if you make a mistake (as I did recently) you have to ask support to fix it you dont have the tools to delete or change bits. Further I don't like the fact (as you pointed out) there does not seem to be an efficient process to replace things like 0 1 when it should be Not Active, Active etc.
