Connection problems between OBD and android app. Audi A3 december 2019.
Good morning.
I am having problems connecting OBDeleven with the app of my phone (Huawei P10) when connecting it costs a lot and I do not know if the sequence I am doing it wrong or I have to do something different since I have seen in the FAG (https://voltas-it.helpshift.com/a/obdeleven-android/?p=android&s=obdeleven-device-dongle&f=why-my-phone-tablet-doesn-t-find-obdeleven-device&l=en) related to mobile huawei but nothing exists and the people of voltas do not solve it either.
At the moment what I am doing and sometimes it works is:
I make sure the phone is not connected to any device.
Car lights I put them from automatic to off.
I press the connect button of the app.
Allow bluetooth connection.
I wait for the message "make sure you have the contact in the car" (This step if I do it directly with the car contact on without starting the engine never connects)
I give the contact without starting the engine.
And that is where the device is already found and connected.
Personally I think it is because the car is from the end of 2019 and they must have changed something to make the connection difficult.
If someone can give me more information or how to connect I would be grateful.
Thank you.

Thanks, couple questions for you. Firstly have your tried this with the bonnet open as i have seen (not sure if its connection or coding) that the Audi cars need bonet open. Have you paired the dongle to the phone (just makes for a faster connection). Do you have internet on the phone and is it a strong signal.
I presume when you plug in the dongle you get a red color on the white dongle.
Last question for now have you tried it on another VW/SKODA/SEAT/AUDI to see if its the same problem.

Firstly have your tried this with the bonnet open as i have seen (not sure if its connection or coding) that the Audi cars need bonet open. Yes
Have you paired the dongle to the phone (just makes for a faster connection).
This point I am not very sure since although I connect I do not see the connection in bluetooth settings
Do you have internet on the phone and is it a strong signal. Yes
I presume when you plug in the dongle you get a red color on the white dongle. Yes red led.
Last question for now have you tried it on another VW/SKODA/SEAT/AUDI to see if its the same problem. Not yet
Thanks

If you go to your bluetooth section in Android you should have a menu called Device connection.
This will show you previously connected devices, if you dont have an OBDeleven then I would firstly use the Pair New Device with your phone (passcode I think is 12345) at least then you will be able to confirm you can connect well with the device.
I have seen some rumours that the 2020 cars may have an extra layer of protection but as of yet nothing official, hopefully in your case its just the phone playing up.
Two other things to try, firstly if you have a different android device, try it and see if that is any different. Secondly on some cars you are able to hide the bluetooth of your MMI and I have seen in the past this causing issues so if you have it hidden turn it back on and see if that helps.

I will try to test it in another car and with another phone to see if it works well. If not, I will request a change. Thank you.

Hello everyone,
I need your help.
I recently changed my phone to a Samsung S20 FE and it does not recognize my first gen (white) plug, search for the plug but cannot find it, the red dot lights up.
I uninstall, reinstall the application.
Can you help me please?
Thanks in advance.
