So I’m not alone in thinking that the Gen2 is a complete waste of money, there are so many other IOS Compatible apps and devices that not only work better than the Gen2 but actually do a load more.
As much as it took me a while to get to know the quirks and issues that the Gen1 OBD11 offers, it has been for the last year my goto tool for any VAG cars.
So the other day I go to pull it out of the OBD port in a golf and the white plastic top comes off, ripping off the Bluetooth module and damaging the PCB it is attached to by ripping off the pads.
So I think I’ll just use the Gen2 one that I bought a few weeks ago, really, what a joke. The IOS version is a basic code reader at best, no way of coding, no basic settings, not really much use.
So I know I’ll use it on my Android Tab that I was using the Gen1 on, nope no chance, as sooon as it connects to it, it says that OBDELEVEN has encountered a problem, it shuts down, and game over.
So even though I bought this Gen2 over 2 weeks ago, I will be sending it back for a full refund as it is certainly not fit for purpose. It does not work as advertised, it does not function as required or expected.

IOS is currently in development(beta). I don't understand why all the people complain about the limited functionality. It is a "beta" and was advertised with the exact features it currently has. Please read before you buy and complain I'm sorry that your Gen2 dongle isn't working as it should. I use it myself and it's working fine so this must be so sort of production failure.

Yeah, and they promise to release iOS version during ”these years”. Maybe they shouldn’t even have ever mentioned about it. ...during these years... lol
