Hi,
I just bought an ObdEleven NextGen Pro and I’m having problems getting it to connect. This is what I’ve done so far…
1) Car is an Audi A4 2006
2) Internet connection is OK as I can view live news pages.
3) I downloaded the APP and set up an account OK and I can see 211 credits.
4) I’m using a Samsung S8 running Android 8.0.0
5) On start up the app required updating which was done OK and version is 0.15.2.
6) On the first attempt to connect the dongle reported that it needed to update too. This seemed to be done OK.
7) Tried to connect and failed with the “Try Again” dialogue.
8) Looked in BlueTooth settings and the device was not paired. I had to use the PIN 123456 to get it to pair (not 1234 as stated)
9) There are other BlueTooth devices paired on my phone but none are currently connected.
10) If I disconnect the device from the OBD port then re-connect to reset the device the ring LED shows RED.
11) When I try to connect, the ring LED changes to a slow flashing blue but the app still fails to connect.
12) I entered a VIN manually and the app picks up the car details from the database correctly.
Anyone have any idea what I can try next?
Thanks
DerekJ
Edited with update******************* I contacted OBDEleven support directly and they told me to delete the device in the "Device" screen. I did this and tried to connect and after a few attempts it connected and worked OK. Don't use the "plus sign" button on the device page, just hit connect on the main screen and it connects to the device.
However, even with a good WiFi signal, it still took several tries to get it to connect to the car.
Hope this helps DerekJ

I’ve been having the same problems, I find if the ring on the dongle is white it connects, also found it deleted my gen 1, and the only way it seems to get in is if, as you said, delete all devices from devices, then connect and put the password in (if it asked for password, if it doesn’t you just get device not connected or similar), although it goes in first time, every time in iOS
Are you using 4G on the tab/phone or do you have a personal hotspot of WiFi? (I use personal hotspot on iPhone)

I've tried both mobile data and WiFi. The car is just outside my house and gets a strong WiFi signal on the drive but still only connects once in a wile.
Once it connects, it's a great device to use but connection is a real pain.

I am also having problems pairing and staying paired with my Samsung S9. Has your issue been resolved?
When I try to pair the OBDEleven, I see the device in the available bluetooth list. But when I enter the password to pair, there is not a conformation that it successfully paired. I have tried 0000, 1234, 123456, etc. But nothing seems to work. I then open the app and click connect and I can select the device. But, it is not showing as paired on my S9. If I shut off bluetooth and turn bluetooth back on, the device is not paired. It is in the available list again and this happens all over. I can scan the car, but not anything else. I can not erase codes or anything. After scanning the car the bluetooth connection is lost and the OBDEleven has errors asking to try again, or something went wrong.
