I have been doing some testing on the latest beta release and updated issues in the correct place.
However I felt that I should add my voice to the many users who complain about these items.
Firstly I would agree with the many many users who have said we should be able to save / edit a specific set of test so we can re run them quickly with minimal time wasted.
I personally go to a number of different track events and when I go on and off the track numerous times during the day, each time i have to re create my standard set of extracts and its a pain.
Secondly I feel that you need to differentiate the Live data and the Charts setups, currently the list of available attributes is the same in both screens however the chart process does not record all items, it appears to me to be text output values that are ignored but I can still see them on the screen. Personally the chart view with the screen at the top (in the form of a chart) is a waste of time and these two screens should be combined into one but you just have another value you can click to record would reduce the number of different options the user is presented with.
If there are text outputs that you cant add to the chart output then just give the user a warning and exclude the data item from the extract.
Final point and a quick fix the current Chart process needs to have the Live Data search box added to the top of the list to make it easier to use.
Picture of some of the attributes and associated values.
Reading this I now see 3 distinct types of attributes
Live data from the car that changes in real time to show you current state of something eg Coolent Temp / Engine Speed / absolute intake pressure and these are what I would use in the Chart function.
Static data from the car that shows you the configuration eg Activation of oil pressure switch - would not use these very often but do at least allow user to check setup of car and in some cases these values can change for example Error counter bad fuel
Then the third set is values that I do not think we can use eg Status of basic settings - I am guessing this will change when I am running a basic setting function but as i cant run the function and read the status (outside of what the Basic Settings screen shows me) this type of value would seem to be pointless for a user to have access to. Very happy to be proved wrong but i am just aware there is a large number of attributes that users have to trawl through to select the ones they want.
I would also like to suggest that on both live data and charts rather than picking one attribute then going back to the list and adding another one etc.
Would would be nice is if you can just tick the attribute in the list and keep going till you have finished (in the same way as you can in the Filter on History).
