Anyone compared what can be done using 'no additional cost' shortcuts/automations on -caristaapp- vs OBDeleven?
Are 'apps' basically automating Long coding?
Here's what I'm seeing...
Credits for 1-touch apps concern me. How much do the apps cost? There is NO info on app cost! Pay credits each time you use an app is not good. It should be buy the app, use it forever or for a year, or something reasonable! I searched forums & OBDeleven web - no info. Even called DAP & ECS (I'm in the USA) -- both of them are 100% clueless on apps costs or where to find that info.
Time based subscriptions are not good unless you are a professional making money from it. Monthly only makes sense if you are doing one-and-done. Yearly is fine but it costs too much for personal use.
I saw a thread showing OBD11 changing colors of the digital dash, etc... didnt see this on Car-ista? Is this missing? Anything else missing from Car-ista .
Looks like their 'apps' are free with the subscription, no additional cost, ever... yes?
Then the question is... does Car-ista do all the same apps the OBDeleven does?
1) Yes one click apps do the coding stuff for you. 2) You can lookup the one click app costs if you download the app and add your car(you don't need the dongle for this). Most likely it's between 10 and 100 credits per app.
The question you should ask yourself is: Do i want to spend time searching for coding instructions or not.
caristaapp has more apps for the cars BUT you can only use these and nothing else. If the option you want to change is not supported you can't do it. OBDeleven basic offers you apps aswell BUT there are less apps than in caristaapp(for my car). However if you buy PRO you get full access to coding etc. That means if you don't find a one click app that fits your needs you can do it by yourself. This requires some time since you need to lookup/search the right coding.
My advice is buy OBDeleven to get more advanced options or buy caristaapp if you don't need full access to all CU.
dv52 (Australia): @_Piotr: AFAIK, there are no PIDs that are directly accessible by the user in OBD11. The Parameter-IDs are incorporated into the software options. For example, service mode 03 (Show stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes)is accessed in "Fault"

testeronline: majestic12 I would suggest you let VW/AUDI Know as this is there software. Just as an aside what car do you have as I did not think the virtual screens supported this so just trying to increase my knowledge

dv52 (Australia): testeronline: needle sweep can be enabled on some AID displays. In majestic12's case, I suspect the facility is getting delayed because of all of the other start-up activities that happen on ignition switch-on (but I'm guessing)

audia4b8: Hi, I have the same problem, did you manage to solve it? I have been struggling with this for a month and I also have no way of changing it as they write above. It is not possible to change 0 - 1 and vice versa. Through the application and points also does

majestic12: Yea i though so it would be the processes that are starting up when turning on the ignition, maybe they can fix it by doing needle sweep when turning the engine on. Would be cooler to me when starting the engine you see the needle sweep

testeronline: vwjap, I just checked on the Leon Forums and currently V1 and V2 of the dash does not support needle sweep, however it looks like v3 (as fitted in the Atteca) does. Lucky I have the old dials and they do support it (not that I ever look at it )
