Hello! I was wondering whether it was possible to enable static cornering lights on a mk7 GTI without the lighting package (regular halogen headlights)?

I mean static cornering lights in the form of front fog lights turning on when turning the steering wheel.

So, I assume that your vehicle has front fogs installed already. If so, and if the Central electrics control module has the AFS (Advanced Front-lighting System) channels set-up correctly (normally these channels are set for AFS by default from the factory), then the answer is YES! What you need to do is to enable "cornering" (VW calls this "Abbiegelicht") in the Leuchte-channels for each of the front fog lights. The process goes something like this: - Select Central electrics control module
- Select Security access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select Adaptations
- Search for Leuchte12NL LB45 (this is the left-side fog-light)
- Select Lichtfunktion B 12 and only if your current setting is not active, change setting to Abbiegelicht links
- Search for Leuchte13NL RB5 (this is the fight-side fog-light)
- Select Lichtfunktion B 13 and only if your current setting is not active, change setting to Abbiegelicht rechts
Don
PS: when changing the settings, make sure that you select the correct links/rechts option and don't confuse the command Abbiegelicht with the similarly spelled command Abblendlicht (they are very different)

Thank you, Don! How do I know if the Central electrics control module has advanced front-lightning system? Its a '14 GTI so the fogs came from the factory, that's all I know. It has the regular front headlights (the halogen ones without the LED DRLs that sort of resemble angel-eyes).

I do have the "auto" function on the headlight dial though.

As I said, most mk7's that I have seen (regardless of whether they have factory fitted fog-lights) have the AFS settings already set in the Central electrics control module. If your car came with fogs factory fitte, then it's very likely that you car will have the correct settings.
If you want to check, select Central electrics, then select adaptations, then search for "Static AFS light", you should have the Child channels as per my screen-shot below.

Hello again, Don! I have finally received the device yesterday and tried coding today. I checked the Static AFS and everything seemed the same as your picture, apart from the degrees (mine seemed to be at 180 and not 30 IIRC). Anyway, I did the coding right, I'm 90% sure, and I pressed the green button. I disconnected the device and restarted the car, but the cornering lights don't seem to be working. I put the car in D just to be sure and tried turning the steering wheel and nothing. Have I missed something along the way?

I may have been to quick to post. I found the history and turns out for 12NL LB45 I changed the A 12 value and not the B 12. I hope I didn't screw anything up

^^^paul: not quite sure that I understand - I'm here on the other side of this fragile blue planet (probably) and not much information is provided.
I'm willing to help (if I can) - but you will need to be more expansive in your description of the problem, please (that's the way these forums work)!
