Thanks in advance.

Hi, have the same problem on VW Scirocco 2009.
1. Cant find or setup Basic Setting for regulating flap for compressor 2. Cant find or setup Output Test for regulating flap for compressor
Here's the car's log details that should help .:
OBDeleven data reading Date: 21/10/2019 08:40 VIN: Vehicle: Volkswagen Scirocco Year: 2009 Body type: Coupe Engine: CAVD 118 kW (160 HP) 1.4 l Mileage: 151470 HP --------- -------------------------------------------------- ---- 01 Engine System description: MED17.5.5 Software number: 03C906027BS Software version: 1676 Controller number: 03C906027F Serial number: Coding: 0000072 Error codes: P10A4 - Regulating flap for intake air Mechanical malfunction Active
I have replaced the original OEM unit with a used one, 10 years newer, but still get the same MIL code. I am told the Basic Setting must be done for the ECU to learn the new operating range parameters from the new unit.
Thanks!

No I haven't. I ended up paying the mechanic for the VCDS service because I could not do it via OBD11. Waste of money.

No. If you did a backup of all the adaptation channels using OBDeleven, then exported the CSV file to an excel spreadsheet, you can see what the actual channel was to do the Basic Setting.

Looks like a workaround to perform a fairly simple task. I've checked this feature and indeed it looks like it could help. Will try it when I'll I need it. Surprised these features are not available directly & by default in the app for a typical car, for part that fitted in all dual charged VAG engines.

Surprised these features are not available directly & by default in the app for a typical car, for part that fitted in all dual charged VAG engines. That is where you are wrong. No VAG car is "typical" unless you are describing an old car prior to CANBUS (like a MK4 Golf etc). There are several variations of the "same" module with different part numbers and memory block locations where the various bits and bytes are located for the various options. It is almost impossible to support them all. Even Ross-Tech has to roll out frequent updates every few weeks when they get more variety of the same cars to experiment with and release bug fixes. In each of Ross-Tech's updates, they delete the old "label" files and replace them with new ones so there were no issues. What you need to understand is that the "APPs" feature in OBDeleven is a user-contribution thing where everyone made suggestions for the developers to implement so that others can benefit in an easy one-click process. If you PM a member called "Adiwob" on this forum with your engine information (including ECU information and part number), he might provide you a cool spreadsheet with all the juicy "security codes", measuring blocks, basic settings, etc.

You would do the SCAN from the home screen. Then click on the e-mail icon in the upper-right hand corner once done. You would then punch in your e-mail address then hit send.
To do a backup. You would go to the individual module that you wish to do the backup on, then scroll down to BACKUP.
A moderator made a tutorial on here for this. I'll post the link when I come across it once again.

Thanks, I followed instructions and emailed it to myself. Here it is, unfortunately it does not tell me the Channel name, so I am unsure which channel I use for doing the basic settings for regulating flap. Any ideas ?

You did this to the Engine Control Module #1
You need to do this to the HVAC system at address #8 / Module #8

Hi Matthew,
HVAC ? I think you may have misunderstood that the flap I changed was the Air inlet flap for the Supercharger and nor the air conditioning. So I would have thought the channel should be in the Engine Control Module.

You are correct. My response was to another thread for someone who had HVAC issues.
I'll respond to your adaptation query shortly.

Yes I have seen this Video. He is using VCDS in this video whilst obviously I am using OBDEleven. When using OBDEleven I do not see a dropdown list of functions....all I see is a question asking for the Channel number. Hence my original question, "What is the channel for doing the Basic settings adaption for regulating flap for compressor ? ". I think its clear that OBDEleven has limitations......and I will just either need to buy VCDS or pay a Mechanic $200 to do this simple task. Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.

Hi,
I have a VW Touran with TSI engine and have the same problem with this flap device. I cannot find the "adaptation of regulating flap for compressor" function in the channel dropdown list and don't know the channel number either.
As I can see the original question was not answered here regarding how to do this basic setting in OBDEleven. Could anybody tell how to do this with OBDEleven?
Thanks and regards,
Tofi

I'm going to make a guess based on the 2.0T that you MIGHT be able to try group 60 under Basic Settings with the ignition ON, but Engine OFF.
