Hi,
New to forum and I just picked up an '06 Touareg. The previous owner gave me an OBD11 dongle that he had used on the vehicle. I was wondering if I can just download the app and connect to the device or will I need any account info (username/password) from the previous owner for the OBD11 to work? Thanks for any assistance

If you dont have the old users log in details then you may face issues as the Dongle has a 6 digit security code (to stop people nicking and using other peoples kit I guess). If you have an account paired with the device then you can reset it but if you set up a new account then you will have to contact support to see if they can help. Or better still ask the original owner for the 6 digit code or log in details.
If he will share the login details you then get a full history of all the changes that have been made to the car with OBD11, However if you set up a new one then all that history will be lost (as its linked via VIN and Account)
If you go for the non pro version you can use the apps to make changes to your car and run scans, you dont have to buy credits all you have to do is log on each day and get 1 free credit, then you can also watch 5 adverts and get a total of 6 free credits a day, soon adds up.
If you go pro you wont need credits and you can make changes to settings of all your installed control units.

Thanks for the quick replies! The previous owner just sent me the 6 digit pin. I'm gonna give it a try when I get home from work. Thanks again!
